Another thing Andrew, I tried replication putting my slave db's as "1, 0," so they are read only and just tested it out by shutting down mysql on the main DB server and it wouldn't connect to the slave DB's. It works fine with hyperDB so I am not sure what is going on there ;) If you get a chance do you think you could look at it?

Simple typo, but the move blog script has a couple references to move_blogs.php in it and you renamed the file to move-blogs.php so it fails without the correct URL.

The blogs are spread over the databases depending on the first 1, 2, or 3 character(s) of the md5 hash of the blog id.

So for example, the main blog with the blog id of '1' would have the hash:
c4ca4238a0b923820dcc509a6f75849b

If you're using 16 databases then that blog would be in database PREFIX_c. For 256 databases it would be in db PREIX_c4 and for 4096 PREFIX_c4c.

That is a good question. If only there was a filter/action hook where you could tie into the blog information on the main blogs page.

Me personally, I add a little modification to the first field with the blog_id. I put the first 3 characters (or 2, or 1, whatever) of the md5 hash of the blog_id on a new line right below the blog id.

So you end up with something like this:

1

read somewhere here that the folders shouldn't be included so I guess I'll change that for them too, just to be sure

Yep, all files should go directly into /upgrade-plugins/.

the forums however still isn't showing..

Can you copy/paste the config section at the top of your forums.php please?

Thanks,
