Greetings rgmkrist,

Thank you for the additional input which is certainly appreciated.

and using Login Redirect to redirect to another page

This redirect should happen after logging in to the place you designated.

Are you trying to point out that it does not redirect AFTER the log in?

What happens when you deactivate the SimpleModal plugin and log in as an end user, are you then not redirected to the correct destination?

Please advise and have a GREAT upcoming weekend in any event.

Hi @rgmkrist,

It looks to me like the SimpleModal plugin is not respecting the built in WordPress login system, and is instead attempting to process the login itself and then redirect, thus bypassing the redirection put in place by our plugin.

Judging by the plugin's FAQ's (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simplemodal-login/faq/) you should be able to tweak the code of the SimpleModal plugin to redirect to your desired page (assuming this is a fixed location, or to the previous page as is suggested in the FAQ). Although I'm not familiar with the code of the SimpleModal plugin, the suggestion they mention could be tweaked to achieve what you are looking for.

Where are you trying to redirect logged in users to? Do you have a front end profile page, or are you trying to redirect them back to page they were on when they hit login?

Hey there,

Not sure I'm following, Jack.

I downloaded Hide Login with the intention of customizing the urls for areas of wearabl.com that users will be using ( /wp-admin to /admin for example). Activation was smooth, however, when I enabled the two checkboxes within the settings and clicked save, I saw the error screen-captured above.

That link seems pretty technical -- I'm just trying to use the Hide Login plugin :/

what do you mean by this answer? Are there issues with the authorize.net gateway that we won't be able to fix until you do an update?

I mean I'm currently updating all the gateways in the plugin and if you want to try the latest versions then the beta is the place to grab them. I'm going through all of the threads that are open for each of the gateways and responding directly on them or pointing people to the beta to try the fixes already in it.

we are trying to find out what happens on the user end when they move from one subscription level to the next. are they prompted for payment (if going from a free level to a paid one for example) when the login the next time, or via email at the conclusion of the first level or ???

Depends, have you set up some messages in the communications module to inform them that they are coming to the end of the current level and prompt them to go to the subscriptions page to renew? That is the aim for that module (communications) for single payment gateways.

@brian9500

Just a quick not have switched this to membership as that is now the key focus.

Awsome thanks for the feedback. Just what i needed, I am tagging @Barry the lead developer and he is also handling the gateway at the moment and will drop him an email in case he misses this. The only issue i see is actually taking a delayed payment, i assume that you want them billed if they don't cancel within the 7 days. At the moment there is no way to take a cards details and charge it 7 days later if not cancelled. The only way i can think of is to create an initial 7 day free period when they sign up (set it to finite) when the 7 days is over then they will be prompted to renew using a payments option.

Not the most elegant of solutions but certainly workable, Please get back to me and let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

all three of our subscriptions have a 7 day free trial. we wanted the user to sign up, enter their credit card, have a 7 day trial then begin paying for the paid level after the 7 days.

if we cannot do that, then we want to know what happens after the 7 days. How is the user prompted to begin paying?

Lastly, we have been unable to setup authorize.net. the credit card payment option is not showing up on the sign up screen. we have updated the SSL, reset the keys, and tried just about everything. 3 designers later, the only advice I have is to find another plugin and nobody can sign up on our site. not good.

having problems with:
1. integrating authorize.net (6 weeks of trying to fix, 3 designers- final answer from all: go to S2Member).
http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/cannot-connect-payment-gateway-to-membership-sign-in#post-387121

2. setting up free trial options w/ credit card
http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-do-i-offer-a-trial-period-and-then-allow-them-to-pick-the-subscription-level#post-387117

http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-do-i-setup-a-free-trial-that-requires-a-credit-card-up-front#post-387104

3. in general, trying to understand what happens on the under end as subscription levels change. we keep getting different answers and it's too hard to test because we have to wait so long to see what happens.

4. setting up the mailchimp ping for new subscribers.

so, pretty much every component of the plugin is giving us issues at this point :)

thanks for checking in, we're still having multiple issues with WPMUDEV Membership and EXTREMELY frustrated. We would have changed already but we're tied to it given that we designed our site around it.

Hiya @redpupmedia

Welcome to the forums!

No, our plugin is a super-simple global redirect upon login. The only setting is the URL everyone would go to when they login, including admins.

The suggestions by @Billzy are good ones. But if you don't want to get your hands dirty and fiddle with code, there is this alternative: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/peters-login-redirect/

It might be just the ticket for you :)

Hope this helps! And thanks for being a member :)

Option 1:
There are code snippets that can do this, however the code that you use depends on what's in you're site... ie Some plugins require the user to access specific .php files in the wp-admin folder.. This can cause issues with certain code snippet options.

Option 2:
Redirect to a custom page / template that checks the role and redirects users a second time to their final destination based on their role. .

Both options you are going to need php basics. Option 2 is easier than option 1

Cheers
Billy
