Hi Joe - thanks for the reply.

I haven't published the page yet, since it's not working .. so I don't have a URL to give you.

but to answer your other questions..

- I am running wordpress with cloudflare, no other cache plugins.

- I am developing and testing on the same blog, using the same browser - chrome.

- I tried it again today on my desktop (yesterday i was using my laptop) and it seems to work, although it does refresh twice after the countdown expires before settling in on the scheduled content. That's not a big problem...I can live with that.

Question: is there any way to control the visibility of the countdown timer, or it's CSS?

Thanks,
Lou

Greetings Lou,

Welcome to WPMU DEV!

Sorry to see that you are having an issue with your WordPress installation and the Schedule Selected Content plugin

With that said and not knowing why this is happening, what is the URL to the place this is happening?

Are you running caching on the WordPress installation in question by any chance?

Are you using two completely different browsers for developing and testing? i.e. Firefox for developing and Chrome for testing and dumping the caching and cookies of the test browser before each test?

Please advise.

I'm not sure what to think of that, you obviously haven't set it incorrectly? presumingly as the other days are working as you want. I'm not sure off hand, do you have any cache plugins enabled?

could you try changing the length to say 6hrs or so, just to test if it works if you set it to a shorter time frame?

let us know if this works.

Ok, here is the back ground...
I have 6 pages, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat that release content at 7pm the night before. Then they all hide the content at Midnight Saturday to get ready for a new week. (I live in Perth which is 8+GMT)
All pages work fine except for Monday....

For some reason it just shows the content 100% of the time?

For example Saturdays page is scheduled:
Open time is Friday @ 11:00am GMT (7pm Perth Time)
Open Length is 1 Day & 5hrs
This would show the content until Saturday 4:00pm GMT (Sat 12:00am Perth time)
This page works fine!

I try the same schedule for Mondays Page but I have to change the times as such:
Open time is Sunday @ 11:00am GMT (7pm Perth Time)
Open Length is 6 Days & 5hrs
This should show the content for the full week until Saturday 4:00pm GMT (Sat 12:00am Perth time)
However it shows the content 100% of the time???

This is where i'm stuck...

Greetings asapp,

Sorry for the delay and the truth be known your ticket just came up on my screen today being delayed at least three days by your last bump in the ticket immediately above. The below is a cut and paste from another ticket and this is not a criticism but a matter of fact:

****Please note:****
One reason in this particular ticket here that we are having delays in a response is because of the way the ticket system works. The ticket system see's every reply as well a reply ... and then changes it's priority in the support que to include ticket aging.

Therefore it may not show up on our screens as early as it would under normal conditions. It is usually in your best interest to not bump tickets or reply to them unless there is something significant to add.
****Please note****

Now addressing your question directly after further investigation it is based on GMT within itself and without custom coding there is no way to change this.

I am guessing since you asked the question you cannot custom code this yourself or you would have done so by now.

Alternatively, you could see if there's a developer available at wpmu jobs who could get onto it right this minute

Thank you for being a WPMU DEV Community Member!

You offer great plugins but you need to work better on your support timing and update the image since As i said its misleading and its not an actual shot of the plugin.

But hey who am I to complain. After all I got a good deal with your plugins so why should I complain for support right?

Apologies my developer has no manners especially when our company name is in the picture. Is topped him as soon as i got a reply notification.

We downloaded your other plugins which is fine and covers this issue as far as I am concered, apologies the developer did not notify my correclty (was under the impression we got a single plugin licence) staff you know... which gives me a value over the cost spent.

You have valuable plugins here which my developer did not even bother to mention and for that cost its worth it no matter.

Its a shame that that plugin does not work on whole posts. I saw your profile and you are quite a developer so I am sure you can assist me and make this happen. Even with a theory on how to make it work around the plugin I can get my hands dirty.

First rule to run a company - if you have to get things right do it yourself :)

Anyway's for future clients sake update your image ok as you can confirm its misleading.

If you can assist in a simple theory I can call the case closed.

Thanks Brian

Fair enough but for your info a post is content.

Besides the below screenshot proves I am right and if no refund will be issued i want the feature in the screenshot period.

Your Terms of service clearly state .9

We guarantee that all of our plugins will work as advertised!!!

You want to go against that is practically a breach of these terms.

To be honest I don't even care about a refund its the way you answered me which I clearly asked for help after all I want that function.

At least you could have agreed about the image (and you know I am right) and said you will update your image which would have been fine.

Now keep your money and fix this issue as per terms or issue a refund as per your terms.... again

If you read the first sentence on the plugin page:
"Want to just schedule the release of select content within a post or page and not the entire content?"

The plugin doesn't accomplish what you're describing and based on what I'm reading I don't believe the plugin page is unclear at all.

Hi,

Your Schedule Selected Content plugin page is very misleading.

I was looking for a plugin to enable and disable a post at a specific time and saw your plugin page. You will notice that on the image on the right the visual says " Display this post on:" Don't Display after" however this plugin all it does is hide content which is good but i don't want the whole post to show up!

Unless you can give me an alternative solution to achieve what I want I would like a refund.

Thanks
