Sure, I understand.

I have just done some testing just to make sure and I can confirm that if you network activate the plugin the corner chat will appear on all sites in the network.

So... that should give you what you're looking for, yes?!

remember what I was trying to achieve was to have one chat/room persist across all sites while still allowing them individual chats via shortcode in pages/posts or even via corner chat?

@Phil: not yet familiar with this plugin, I was simply checking it out and reading the description... thinking out loud... what exactly is the corner chat? a feature of this plugin? can't find a separate plugin by that name...

My first thought, without actually doing a test, is that multiple instances of chat will be independent and therefore you won't be able to place a chat window across sub-sites and have them work in tandem.

You should be able to do that with the corner chat though, I think.

As soon as I can I will give this a try and let you know what I find. Unless you beat me to it of course!

after reading the plugin's description I am still unsure if this is doable:

can you share a chat/session/room whatever you might call it across several subsites? (wp with multisite and subdomain installation)

i.e. create a chat for a certain topic and have an option of this chat appearing on every site? or on selected sites?
