@Lorange - I'm passing all the sites that people share with me here, on another forum, and on FB over to my daugther - ultimately it's her decision (and his as much as she'll let him be involved).

Regardless, thanks for all the shares here - I had looked at several Genesis child themes AND some of the ones that people had developed from those child themes. I actually found one that I liked, but I haven't heard her opinion on it hyet. I'll also pass these along to her as well.

@Dean - thanks so much for the most generous offer. Be careful what you offer - someone may take you up on it. ;) Anyway, I may email you once she makes her mind up. It seems like having a site (like her friends do) is not high on her list at this point. She's getting ready for a 1 1/2 week trip to Hawaii this coming week and that seems to have consumed her right now. I'm trying to get all this together so they can talk about it while she's gone with his family there.

Some of the templates mentioned above are ok as well with the exception that some will not work on the ipads.

As far as I've seen they really work great on my iPad, even the last one that use a lot of Jquery/JavaScript. I did not test them on a smaller device but you may consider using a mobile plugin if you notice important issues.

Having said that, a custom design is another great option of course.

Hello @JamesDunn First off congratulations to your daughter. My very first suggestion is to not include any flash or anything that will not work on an ipad or smartphone. She'll want all of her friends to be able to view from where ever they are.

Advantages to using one of the (supposed free sites) like the knot etc... is that all of the hard work is done and based on the information she fills out it will try to match her with vendors that fit her style. This works about 60% of the time.

I'm actually a professional photographer and videographer by trade so I know that these sites do work, however you can expect to get a whole lot of extra emails and ad's.

If your great at programming I can help with the design portion and I do have a fairly large collection of royalty free wedding themed backgrounds etc... Let me know if I can be of service.

Good day everyone.

This is another "not WPMUDev" question, but it is pretty important that I get some help. My daughter is engaged as of last night and I'm looking for a WP Theme to put together quickly for an engagement website (similar to some that you see from The Knot and other wedding websites). She had signed up for The Know, but since her Daddy is heavily involved in internet work AND she needs to learn WP for her job, I felt it was a prime opportunity to teach her about WP AND provide her with a much more custom experience.

Anyone have ideas of nice looking couples engagement websites that they've seen. I can probably put something together from my Genesis framework package, but as I tell people, I'm technically creative (tell me what you want to do and I'll find a way to accomplish it), but not really design creative.
