accessing subdomains via ip
using wpmu
I moved my blogging service to another server... in haste maybe...
thought I copied enough of what I needed, turns out I left a thing or two...
I am on a new server now and trying to figure out how I can retrieve some things from the old server.
I had subdomains setup up with a wildcard * as customerblog.mydomainname.com
any chance someone knows how I can access the subdomains on the old server can't even seem to get into the admin using the ip/login.php
any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Do you have a domain name you are not using? If yes, you can just point the dns to that ip address and use it.
This is the only other way I can think about. Subdomains installs always require a domain name to work.
try editing your local hosts file. That's the one on the computer you;re trying on, not the servers involved. You should be able to hard code the old ip address to match the domain.
If you mention the specific os for the computer you;re currently using, one of us could probably find some docs if that doesn;t make sense.
