Adding 1 user to multi-db in phpmyadmin
Hi,
Is there a way to add 1 user w/password to the db's created with the tool or do you have to do 1 at a time. ie 4096 db's, I must manually enter 1 user with same password 4096 times. Hopefully I'm missing instructions somewhere.

Hiya,
You can grant a user access to numerous databases. Unfortunately the PHPMyAdmin wiki seems to be down at the moment and I can't seem to find another tutorial.
Thanks,
Andrew
Thanks. I looked there yesterday and couldn't find a way that addressed the matter. I thought maybe the tool did it and I just wasn't aware of how to use it for those purposes.

Nah, our tools won't help you with the users.
Question, are you on shared hosting or dedicated hosting?
Thanks,
Andrew
I am on vps with hostgator. I had a reseller account with them for years but moved to vps so I could have access to root.
Thanks,
Brian
I have a text editor installed where I can output a long list of commands with 1 to 4096 in each line. If you drop me a email, I can run this this afternoon and send it back and you can run it from the mysql prompt to via root login for phpmyadmin. If you send me the login information for the new user, I can add it in or it up so you can do a search and replace yourself.
Have to remember how to add in a user. Been a while since I;ve done it.
Thank you sooooo much Dr. Mike. I am sending email. That is great!

Not a problem. Just to let you know though, I;ve not received anything at this point.
hi drmike,
any chance I can get the same help? I am setting up the 4096 db's and am trying to figure out how to add username and password for each without having to do it manually.
I do have root access on a dedicated, not shared server.
Thanks for any help in advance.
