I just installed the Recent Global Comments Widget. It appears that the comments show up but the user avatar is not displayed. I have indicated in the widget setup that I want the avatars to show. Any other suggestion on how I can fix this?

It's always helpful if you can include a link and tell us what versions of WordPress and the plugins are you running. Just including that stuff by default in the first post would be terrific as it helps us diagnose the problem more quickly. :D
Sorry for not including that information you requested. I was not aware it was required. I am running the very latest version of Multisite (3.0.1) and installed the latest version of the plugin. And yes, I am running the latest version of Buddypress.
Sorry this probably got lost in the shuffle. The Avatar plugin is not compatible with BuddyPress as BuddyPress has it's own avatar system built-in. The compatibility information is listed below in the sidebar below the Installation instructions on any plugin page. :D

The Recent Global Comments Widget IS compatible with BuddyPress, but I'm not sure whether it supports the BuddyPress avatars by default.

That being said, I also want to confirm that you have followed the steps for the Avatar installation here:

Also, are you running BuddyPress?
We'll help ya get it sorted. Thanks!
