Hmm, with 3.0 not calling blogs "sites" maybe we should release a "sites directory" plugin. Any other changes that you would like to see that relate to the terminology change?
not the probleme of denomination but of translation !
I manage to do it, editing one at a time all strings where site is mentioned.
Now works, but not in subpage mode. Have to let the "recherche-globale" page directly. Not a problem this time since i use a theme WP3 menu compatible but i had the same problem with site search.
Both translated my way but in fact it could have a little option pannel somewhere to fix :
- the page used
- the title
- any text strings.
There are very few, can be done with a little option panel :)
in fact, the number of MU plugins hard to translate is becoming huge. A "Mu plugin option pannel" could be great, or any thig like that, since for a non phpist as me, thoses chagens took me half a day to understand. Now work fine, but it is "bricolage"....

I'm afraid I don't understand what the problem is. Are you having issues when using the plugin on subdirectory installs ("subpage mode") or did you mean something else?
I wanted to have a subpage /en-direct/sites/ because not all themes have the wp3 (great !) menu option, so I needed this page to be under /en-direct/
Did not managed to get the good syntax in he config line, so let it in root /sites/ since I use customized menu not a problem, with THIS theme (sorry not wpmudev one apologies lol)
It is exactly the same thing with global site search :)
We'll take it into consideration. Though to be honest, this is the first request we've had and with the new menus in 3.0 I'm not really sure it's needed.
Can we have also a "target="_blank" on clic on the links ? or which is the line to put this ?
You'd have to edit the plugin for that I'm afraid. Alternatively you could add in a plugin that modifies all links automatically.
There should really be a options panel. I am creating a nonprofit site using WordPress multisite. Each city/ state could create there own site. But there sites/ full CMS's not just blogs. So you can see the word blogs just dose not fit in all cases.
I have been using WordPress for almost 5 years and one thing I have learned is to never edit someones else's plugins. That's just going to lead to a very nasty upgrade path.
Is there any short code i could use to place this in a page template?
This seems like a great site but as leaders you guys should know better then to have people editing your plugins to do basic things that you know lots of people are going to want to do.
Its all about the details when creating a site and to forse someone to use the blogs slug and then edit a pluging to change that and then once i hand this site over to my client, whats going to happen if they upgrade the plugin? all my changes are lost and every site in there network would then be broken.
I would like to have the feature for the plugin to allow us to change the word "blog" to "sites" or "web site." Is there anything in the works that might accomplish this?
What I was trying to say is that I would like to use the "Blog Directory" plugin but change the wording to "websites" instead of "blogs" from the example below
Gotcha. Easiest way to do this is to open up the blogs-directory.php and do a find and replace all for every reference of 'Blogs' (including the single quotes) and replace it with 'websites' (again, including single quotes. There should be 8 of them.
Then edit the actual page within the WordPress admin to match. You should be in business! :D

Ah, I'm afraid this plugin (and similar ones - like you mentioned) have that limitation.
Thanks,
Andrew

If you want to change the blog title link then you need to edit line 288.

@roblesmiguel99 If you're looking for something to make these changes site-wide in the admin, then this one will do the trick:
