I can't seem to replicate that in test sites. Could you let us know what versions of WordPress and Blogs Mu (assuming it's the latest) you're working with first off?
Also, could you maybe try switching to another page template then switching back again?
Oh, one other thing too, are you using a child theme? Not sure if it's the case, but it might just be that you'd need to update your child theme as well.
How do I check that? At this point, I guess I just need to trash what I have installed and do a reinstall. Also, not using this with BP, just WPMS if that matters.
Could you try creating a new Page using the full width template to see how that looks?
Also, could you try selecting the Blog News template on your existing Page to see how that works?
@Corey, yes I've tried it without BuddyPress as well, on a Multisite, and still am unable to replicate the issue. I think it might have to do with the page template index stored in the database and hopefully the above two attempts will sort that.
So if you create a new page and select the Full width page template, even that does not display properly?
The thing is, the test sites I'm running this through have themselves been updated and are not freshly installed, yet I can't replicate this issue. As such, there's little we can do without knowing more specifics about your site, we'll need to know what's different between your site and our test sites.
Is there something specific about your site's configuration/server that might account for this?
i still getting the same results...no problem in my end
i'm on latest wordpress and multisite network activate without buddypress
if the full width working on new site then some setup or page setting may causing this in old site.
try download the newest version and use parent theme-> create new page and set the page to use the full-width template again and see if its work thro.

Hi David
WP 3.3.1 (just updated now from 3.3) and BlogMu child 1.3. Switched to Blogsmu non-child, same result.
Tried changing the template and changing back. Same result.
Help!

Richie,
Did you check it with just a WPMS site and no BP?
deactivated all plugins, no change
Created new page, same problem
Thanks

Reinstalled the theme and it's fixed.
Thanks

Spoke to soon. It's appearing like before... again. Don't understand this at all. Reinstalled again and same problem.
Richie & David, are you trying it in WPMS or BP?

This is happening on the login page when I try to upgrade, so I can confirm something is going on.
I neglected to check my other full width pages, but - like the others - I had a sidebar with nothing in it.

Hi David
Thanks for the reply. Did as suggested.....
New page with full width - same problem
Blog News template yields what appears a default page with the blog which I think is normal behavior.
Thanks!

I'm seeing this issue on my upgraded site, but not on a fresh install.
Of course starting over isn't a good idea .................... ; )

I don't even want to consider starting over on this theme. It's my main site theme.
Eagle-Eyed Member — 8th January 2012 #
I'm not seeing this on my fresh install either. I only noticed it on my login page after the upgrade.
Sorry troykd - I guess I'm not going to be much help on this one.

New pages have the empty sidebar.
What changed that could affect this? My site didn't change. It's Multisite with subdomains.
I've tried it without Network & Site plugins (except multi-db). I REALLY don't want to delete the theme and do everything over.
Made a brand new site and applied the theme to it. Full width pages are working correctly.

Deleted both Blogsmu and child folders in the theme area. Reinstalled. No change.

Hi Richie,
I rolled back the theme to the previous version. I'll come back to it when i have more time for it. A plugin isn't doing it.
I have no idea how to troubleshoot this now and find what the problem would be.
Geeky Developer — 14th January 2012 #
hi troykd
try open blogsmu/_inc/css/base.css and find this line 347+
#custom .full-width {}
edit to
#custom #container .full-width {float: left !important; padding: 0 0 35px 0px; border: 0px none !important; width: 100% !important;}Member — 17th January 2012 #
Richie,
Sorry for the delay on checking this. It did work so you found the problem!
Thanks for taking the time to find a problem that affects only a small number of people. I truly appreciate it!
