Which plugin version are you using? Just released a new version that should fix that error.
If not what BP theme and version are you using?

Great! I cannot access my admin panel because of the error. How can I install the update?

Same as always, overwrite the old file with the new ones in your wp-content/plugins/ folder via FTP.

I Found a similar BP Group Calendar error:
When I modify this option to "Disabled" status:
BuddyPress > Components > Groups
Let users create, join and participate in groups. Enabled x Disabled
I get the following white-screen error message:
Fatal error: Class 'BP_Group_Extension' not found in /home/[username]/public_html/[site name]/wp-content/plugins/bp-group-calendar/groupcalendar/bp-group-calendar.php on line 149
I'm running WP 3.01, BP 1.5.2, and BP Social Theme.
The error is fixed when BP Group Calendar is deleted. On re-install, all works correctly.

Correction: using BP 1.2.5.2
Also, I get a similar white-screen fatal error with non-WPMU Dev plugin: BuddyPress Wiki.

Would there be a way for me to recover from these without deleting the plugins if I inadvertently disable the BP option again?
Is this problem a BuddyPress shortcoming that I should notify BuddyPress about?

Hiya!
I'm seeing this error as well and have made a report to the developers. We'll take a look at this and see what can be done and report back shortly.
Thanks for reporting! :D

Those plugins require groups to be enabled. Any group buddypress plugin will give similar errors if you disable BP groups.
I will look into trying to handle that rare situation more gracefully in the next version though.

Sounds good.
If this, or maybe something similar, happens again, is there a way for me to recover from this white-screen fatality without deleting the plugin files like I did before? Since I didn't have any data in the Calendar, I don't know if it would have left the data in MySQL and re-read it when I re-installed the Calendar plugin. Any knowledge on this?

HIya pluzon,
That's the great benefit of WordPress (and content management systems in general). You can delete the files and add them back and still have your data safe in the database.
Of course, that being said, the database can become corrupted. A regular (daily/weekly) backup of any active WordPress database is essential. There are many tutorials out there and even a few plugins out there to help you do this.
Thanks!
