I have set up a sub domain at my host provider. Then we added a new sub site. When we go to edit it, we get a 404 error because it can not find the "*.com/wp-admin/" page on the server.
I see that the "wp-admin" folder exists for admin site when looking at the folders at my ftp site. However, I do not see "wp-admin" folder in my subdomain.
The question would be is, how is my sub domain directed to the wp-admin page.

The issue is that when addition domains are added, the dashboard does not work. We get a 404 error.

Hi mollohancsi,
Are you using wordpress-mu or single wordpress?

Hello Mustafa,
We are using wordpress-mu.
It appears that when creating the sub sites, wp-mu is not going out and creating the necessary files as required.

Wordpress-mu not working this way.
First you set wildcard settings to your hosting.
All wordpress sites uses the same system files. So, if you add sub domain on your hosting panel you get this error.
You can create new site network admin ->sites
I hope thats help.

home http://bartley.knojmodesigns.com/
Upload Path wp-content/blogs.dir/11/files
File upload URL http://bartley.knojmodesigns.com/files

Yeap,
I understand.Your way correctly.
I guess,hostgator not support wildcard.
Can you ask to hosting provider about wildcard support?

Seems like what Mustafa said makes sense. Why is WP in a subdirectory though?

Hiya mollohancsi,
Can you copy your .htaccess file here so we can see the rules we have there?
Thanks!
