I have about a 100 members on my site that uses the Membership plugin. I've only just started using this plugin, and now I wonder if this was a mistake. Subscribers have reported to me that they never received a payment notification from PayPal. When I search on their names in my PayPal account there are no results. When I search in PayPal on random transaction IDs - as copied from the 'view transactions' in Membership - there are no results either.
Can you tell me what's going on?
(This is Membership 2.1.4 on a Wordpress 3.3.1 site.)

Can you give us more details on how you have the plugins set up - e.g. what subscriptions you are using / prices / details. Are you customers going to paypal to pay? They are saying that they've never received a payment notification from PayPal - but have they actually paid on PayPal, as that would automatically generate one by them, and another to you.
Thanks for your swift reply. I realize you need more information, but since it seems a bit convoluted, I'm not sure what you would need exactly. Here are some screenshots:
Essentially we have:
1) yearly plan - single sign-ups and subscriptions
2) monthly plan - single sign-ups and subscriptions
3) yearly plan for users with credits - these are activated manually and do not go through a gateway
4) monthly plan for users with credits - these are activated manually and do not go through a gateway
We are using the PayPal Express gateway and the Single payments gateway.
But I'm not entirely sure how to interpret it. Either way, people have been signing-up for the past three weeks, so I doubt PayPal would not yet have this information updated in the system.
Anyway, I don't know if this is "within the line of duty", but you're welcome to take a look inside the WP admin, if that helps. I can be contacted at rogier@almine.net
Update:
I have found many subscriptions in PayPal, so indeed these did go through. However, a number of solo payments seem to be missing. (These were the ones I looked for originally.) It's hard to say what the deal is with PayPal here, as its transaction search seems somewhat impaired at this time.
