Why can't I add additional forums? I must confess that I use Host Gator and I used the Word Press Dashboard to install the plugin and activated it there, instead of using FTP to put on the server. Is that why this plugin isn't working correctly?
I couldn't figure out how to install via FTP. Host Gator has an upload feature......but when I unzipped the file the 1 folder named Forum didn't contain all the files. If the problem is the way I installed the plugin please help with more complete instructions.......since I am fumbling around on this.
Thanks,
Eileen

Hi Eileen,
The default is set to a maximum of 1 forum, but you can change that by editing forums.php as mentioned in the instructions as follows:
$forums_max_forums = 1; //The maximum number of forums per blog - Max 25Hope that helps, let us know if you have any questions on it!

So do I put a forums.php in my child theme folder.......or do I have to create a child plugin folder? I know how to copy the file and edit.......just don't know where to put it.
Thanks

Hi eileensventures,
Very sorry I missed your prior response! That would actually be done directly in the plugin's forums.php file, so as follows:
/wp-content/plugins/forums/forums.php-David

I made the change to forums.php and it is working fine.........just was wondering if a plugin update would reset it to 1........and thought that using a child was involved. So I guess I made this more difficult.......if an update doesn't reset this. Please advise........but I think we have this one resolved. Thanks, Eileen

Hiya,
Upgrading the plugin would mean re-instating the change. This is a rather old plugin and could use a little loving. I'm gonna mark this as a feature request and ask the developer to comment.
Thanks!
