My BP-album admin doesn't have an option for larger size pics.
My site is http://www.OpenVolunteers.com and I’ve spent 4 hours trying to figure out this one issue. Killing me. All my friends are trying to make accounts as a favor for me to test things. They click out trying, give up, because the avatar upload doesn’t work.
I am told that this is the fault of Social theme from WPMU. How do I get things fixed?

I just created a trial member. Uploaded a pic just fine because the extension was not in caps. When I tried to change the avatar with another jpeg with the extension in caps, it bombs.
Error message in red - "Please upload only JPG, GIF or PNG photos."
Lots of my friends have the same problem when using my site. Not intermittent.
Funny that the error message is in caps, but it will only take lower cap file extensions.
As we haven't heard back from you we're going to assume the problem
was sorted out and mark this ticket as resolved.
I'd note that you tagged the 'Avatars' plugin which isn't compatible with
BuddyPress. Additionally, the bp-album plugin isn't one of our plugins
here so isn't officially supported.
If it wasn't resolved, or you have any more questions related to this

Hiya,
Can you tell me what the actual issue is? What *exactly* happens when you try to upload the pictures? Do you see any error messages?
Have you tried it with no plugins other than BuddyPress & avatars active and using the default BP theme?

Okay, thanks. I've just tested this in a blank install of WordPress and I don't get the same error.
Are your file extensions JPG or JPEG? If the latter, they should be renamed JPG.
