We are working with a small newspaper, using the Membership plugin on Elegant Themes StudioBlue. The images we uploaded prior to activating the Membership plugin and allowing people at the paper to add content are all there and visible to subscribers and Admin, but none of the images anyone currently tries to upload appear on their articles or in any Galleries unless the images set as Thumbnails. Only the Admin sees the full article with any images that have been added. The subscribers only see the text of an article with no images.
The HTML coding for the picture's download URL is correct. The Actual download URL & Masked download URL match the main URL of the website, but nothing is listed in the Protected Groups.
Is there something I need to put in Protected Groups or is there another issue I should be looking at?

Please try "Unsetting" (leaving field blank) the Masked download URL and let me know if it allows images to generate on pages for free users and subscribers.
http://www.deerriverreviewmn.com automatically defaulted into both the the Actual download URL and the first part of the Masked download URL. On the Masked line the box behind it is empty. When I tried to delete the base URL from that line WordPress jumped the Options page to the Members Dashboard and would not allow the delete.
I have discovered below a post referring to exactly this problem within that the developer of this very plugin Barry covers to include htaccess file, and permalinks which may be that actual problem here.
We need to have this up and worked ASAP as the client is publishing a photo based website. I have reviewed the .htaccess file and it's perfect. The Downloads / Media protection settings are as you requested. (See attached screen shot).
The thread did allow us to validate that the .htaccess file was correct but we are still having the same issues.

Please look this post over and the various topics and troubleshooting within and let me know if none of it fixes your current invisible images issue.

We are using the plugin "NextGEN Gallery" could this be the issue?

I think we have the issue resolved. We had to add the shortcodes to the membership access options and it's working now.
