I've created a blog page and used the template "blog news" for the page.
Created a couple posts...
Went to blog page on front end and my posts were there, but when clicking to go to the blog post it throws the error "Fatal error: Call to undefined function dp_posted_on() in /home/chrisba/public_html/wp-content/plugins/directory/themes/default/loops/loop-single.php on line 7" over in the "post-meta" div on the right hand side.
On line 7 of loop-single.php is "<?php dp_posted_on(); ?>"
Anyone know of a fix to still use normal blog posts with the directory plugin?

Hiya!
First off, are you using the latest version (1.0.7) of the plugin?
I've just looked in my test install and I don't even have a page template option with the default theme...

I'm using the Beta 2.0.
The single.php, and the loops it uses doesn't work with normal blog posts, just directory listings.
Does the loop-single.php needs to be re-worked?

<?php/* dp_posted_on(); */ ?>
<?php/* dp_posted_in(); */ ?>
When I commented out the lines above the single.php allows for both normal blog posts and directory listings...
Is there a more proper way to do this?

I still don't see that page template in the beta - something else must be adding those. Are you using the standard theme or a child?

Hi, I am getting the same error
/public_html/wp-content/themes/default/loops/loop-single.php on line 7
Turning in now, but here is a link to my site. showing that I get an error message when clicking on a POST.
I did a google search and found the same error message elsewhere, without any explanations or solutions.
Aside: I am happy to see the development of the directory plugin move along. Ideally, it could be developed independently of the theme, but the default does look very nice.
Also, I would like to have more flexibility with widgets, so that I can add advertisement banners elsewhere in the site, and not just one the top. If there is a way for paying customers to have ads turned off, optionally, this would allow for adsense or other ads before a customer becomes a paying customer.. Also, ads / widgets should,be able to be placed in google hotspots, to optimize click revenue.
Thanks

Here is the error message I have been getting, when clicking on the post link. *(There is only one post on the site so far.)

Greetings PJ,
Sorry for the big delay here, I luckily came across your thread and I say luckily because you opened or commented on a three month old thread that was being addressed by a technician who is no longer with WPMU Dev - it may have never been seen.
In the future it is in your own best interest to please open your own ticket rather then take the chance of an old ticket being not addressed and think we are ignoring you which is certainly not the case.
Please advise as to what version of the plugin you are using?
Cheers, Joe

Greetings PJ,
Just checking if this issue was eventually resolved in another thread? Or by yourself separately to us? Or by us over email with you? Or using our live support?
If so, no need to reply, that's great news.
If not, or you have any more questions related to this thread, please feel free to post them below including any new symptoms or errors and tick the 'Mark as Not Resolved (re-open)' box below the post area (or else we'll miss it!)
Otherwise, happy days, glad you got it sorted :)
Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!
Cheers, Joe

Thanks for follow-up.
For me, this issue has not been resolved.
Here is a link to my site. (Or see my link above)
I get this error message only when I click on the regular posts. See the one I have on site, down below.
Thanks again. I look forward to a solution.
Aside. I am MOST interested in plugin (or systems in general) that facilitate:
* directories / search
* event calendar related
* reviews (eg product & services)
* smart monetization using the above.
Consistent with the last item, it SEEMS important if not essential that directories be usable independent of themes; and NOT tied to particular themes.
Also, having flexibility, to place ads on different (more optimal) web page places is also essential. Please refer to searches like: google ad hot spots". More specifically, the one advert spot for the directory theme is very suboptimal.
Thanks

Greetings PJ,
I looked at your sites and cannot figure out why you are getting that message because it is in fact working fine for me on two different servers:
This one is a couple of months old:
http://bulgariannet.easystartdiywebsitedesign.com/
and this one is a few days old:
http://directory.aecnuwpmu.us/listings-category/restaurants/
Of course you can see the front end too :-)
http://directory.aecnuwpmu.us/
Now it is time to go into full blown trouble shooting mode because it appears there may be some conflict there.
Standard plugin trouble shooting protocol involves deactivating all plugins except the plugin in question and then see if the still issue exists. If it does not, then you want to activate plugins one at a time testing in between to see if the issue returns. Even when you find one plugin, it may be in your interest to deactivate the problem plugin and continue testing the rest of the plugins to insure no others are also conflicting. You will know the conflict when the issue returns and which plugin(s) you activated that cause the issue.
Please advise if there are any plugin conflicts and if so what the plugins are that are conflicting with the theme in this case.
Cheers, Joe

thanks for your very quick response.
Overnight, I appreciate that!
Update. I still have the problem. What I have tried so far:
1) Deactivated all plugins except the directory plugin. (Not a fix.)
2) Kept directory plugin activated, but activated the default WP theme (and not the Directory theme).
#2 resulted in elimination of the fatal error message (above) error message.
I look forward to solving this issue, as I am hoping that I can develop a site with this plugin, and then develop others. Also, I hope that there continues to be a TEAM that continues to develop DIRECTORY capabilities, hopefully one that can also be used with other themes, and not just the current one, although it is nice.
From a business perspective, the better able I am to develop quality sites I can monetize, the more easily I will be able to renew my subscription. Thanks.

PS I am using the latest version of the plugin, 2.05
Also, would be it be helpful to see all of the previous posts in this thread, if you have not done already.
Apparently, someone else had a same or similar problem, with same error message, but did not respond to your inquiry as to whether or not problem was solved.
Thanks again

Thanks for example sites , which I just checked again.
Perhaps I missed them, but I did not see any normal posts on your sites, which is what is resulting the fatal error.

PS
Also, Directory Theme 1.1 is the version ... ie the default theme inside the plugin version 2.05

Also,
Just to know, have you upgraded the plugin to the latest version ?
You may find it here http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wordpress-directory

It generally occurs once we modify the functions.php file incorrectly, so just to know, were any such modifications made ? Also, if there were any modifications made to the plugin, they would be replaced once you update it to the latest version.
Please advise

No modifications at all. :Using latest Directory version 2.0.5
I have installed Directory 3-4 times now, all with same result. See examples above.
Furthermore,I do NOT get the fatal error when the directory plugin is activated but I use another theme. Therefore, so far, I am concluding there is a flaw in the directory theme 1.1.
Here is latest example of plugin not working while using the directory theme. Irish List
Thanks

Seems you are experiencing the trouble with opening a new issue beneath an old ticket. It does tend to get buried.
I will respond on the new thread, to keep this one from running away again :)
