As this relates to a specific feature of the previous version of the theme, which I don't recall off the top of my head, could you possibly provide a screenshot of the section you're referring to?
I do see the "Do you want to used the site intro in middle?" option and thought that might be what you're referring to, but wasn't totally sure if that's it.
Ah, I think I've found the section you're referring to! Seems it's referenced as the following in the Intro header section of the front-end, but leads to a 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.' page: domain.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=site-intro.php
I'll ask one of the theme developers to have a look here.
That post was a bit confusing, but the 2.2.1 has the Site Intro selection and the 2.2.2 does not.
However, the Site Intro text is still on the site, I just can't open it for edit.
