Hi, this plugin does not work on a single site. When I tried to activate it, it gave me the following errors.
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Rebranded Meta Widget is only compatible with Multisite installs.
Why can't it be made compatible with single site?

Hiya!
The plugin is intended for re-branded elements of a Multisite Network and as such only works with Multisite.
This is pretty clear on the product page...

I'm just wondering, how difficult is it to make it to work for single sites as well? I mean, even for my own site, I don't want it to link to Wordpress's site. I will rather have it link to my "about" page, or delete it completely. Can that functionality be added?

Well, that link doesn't actually appear on a single site install so you wouldn't need to remove it anyway!

Hey Phil, I beg to differ. Take a look at my blog, and you will see that under Meta, the Wordpress link is there!

That's strange, I don't have that on my test install....
Anyway, I'll see if the developer wants to make this single-site compatible too!

It's such an incredibly simple plugin. For single site you could just put your own links in a text widget.

@Aaron, yes I can definitely put my own links in a text widget. But that's extra work that will just benefit myself. If the plugin can be made to work for single sites, I am sure a lot of users will benefit from this, without needing to spend time to create their own text widgets. Hope you see my point. :)

Hi there, may I have a clear status if this feature will be implemented? Many thanks. :)

Greetings Everyone :-)
what specific plugin is this person referring?
The remove/rebrand wordpress from meta?
If so the reason why Phil had a different reaction to his test blog is this particular plugin relies on how the wordpress meta link is encoded into the theme and if it is hard coded it has no effect.
It is not that the plugin does not work, it is the fact the way the theme was coded.
We found this to be true on a multi site install where some themes it works flawlessly while others not at all and found it to be directly related to theme coding not the plugin itself.

Hi Joe, yes I'm am referring indeed to Rebranded Meta Widget. At the moment, the plugin does not work on single site install, which is why I'm asking if it will be implemented.
If I'm not wrong, Phil did not install the plugin on his test blog. The Wordpress branding link did not even exist on his theme, though it exist on mine.
If at the end of the day, with it being implemented and it still does not work on my site, then yes I agree with you that it must be indeed hard coded into the theme that I am using.
Whether it succeeds or fails on my blog, the ultimate goal is to provide a single way to rebrand the meta across all types of installations.
Thanks for your insight Joe. :)

@Phil Stated:
Granted, it *does* state this in the description, but I didn't notice that myself. I tend to look at the banner underneath that says what this is compatible with. It would seem to indicate that this plugin *is* compatible with a single site installation.
I actually came here to ask about the same error because I thought it was single site compatible. The banner also indicates that it is compatible with Buddypress, as you can see below.
Here is a screenshot from the plugin page. Perhaps updating it and removing the indication that it is compatible with Wordpress 3.2.1 would be in order?
