It shouldn't matter how a user is added - but can you confirm that you're giving the user a role on the site or sub-site that automessage is activated on?
no roles given...super admin does not allow you to set roles... from super admin, when a user is added as admin, they are not subscribed to the auto message it apears
The 'Add User' works site-by-site so you'd need to give them a role on the main site (or whichever site has automessage activated). Then they should be added.
I'll ask the developer if there's a way to locate network-wide users that aren't assigned to any site and mark this as a feature request for this plugin.
I think we should consider improving this a little. Here are my questions:
1. I assume that is someone sign up for a subsite.myexample.com they may send automessage if this plugin is activated and messages are added. I never tested this but i assume this work
My major concern are:
2. It appears that once a user signs up using the front end options for a user and blog or just user only then the information set on the main blog for automessage works. Confirm?
3. One issue is when using the cvs/excel upload method adding mass users to site(s). Would it work the same? does it trigger? I have done this before but not sure if it really works.
4. The major issue is If I manually add a user from network admin as a user, would they not be governed by the main blog's auto-message? Or is a best practice to add them to the main site for that auto-message to work?

Can you have a look at the configuration file for the plugin, and let us know what settings that has?
Do yo have the plugin activated network wide, or just on the main blog?

Thanks Barry...
I just revisited the plugin install page: http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/automatic-follow-up-emails-for-new-users/installation/
