I doubt its the new blog plugin ross.
Could you please recheck and see if its the Automessage plugin which is causing issues ?

Summery
Error 1 when creating new blog click and auth creation email and get following error
"Insertion Error: Unknown column 'blog_id' in 'field list' - The template was not applied. (New Blog Templates - While inserting templated settings)"
Error 2 When trying to go to the site direclty you get following error
"Fatal error: Call to a member function has_cap() on a non-object in /home/project3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/automessage/classes/class.automessage.php on line 95"
Example of new sign up and error is here
http://project365.com/ross2/
So possible issue with compatability with 3.4.1 was all working fine up until around the 19/06/2012 previous to this site all working after this they stopped being created correctly.
This was around time that i upgraded to Wordpress 3.4.1 only discovered issue last night when a user emailed me.
Ross.

Hi Barry,
Looks like the error is fixed it now goes to a blank screen.
EG>
So i did new sign up as per normal
when i clicked the link to activate it went to page and gave me the following error
"Insertion Error: Unknown column 'blog_id' in 'field list' - The template was not applied. (New Blog Templates - While inserting templated settings)"
I belive there is an issue with new blogs template as its trying to setup the blogs template i have assigned.
This error only comes up when you join and click the activate your blog link for the first time
To simulate the error simply sign up for a blog on
sign up process is working fine when you get email click on link to activate and you will get following error.

Sign up link: http://project365.com.au/wp-signup.php
When you go to the page it is now blank no error
eg: http://project365.biz/rosstest2/
So looks like it has not set up the template.
So i guess next step would be to have a look at that plugin ?

The error, for automessage, is actually because there isn't an adminstrator role on your system at the time the plugin is initiated. Now that highlights a problem that's potentially larger with the new blog plugin or your install - it's just that the automessage plugin highlighted the issue, and now it no longer does, we've moved on to the actual issue which we need to track down.

Barry,
If you want i can give you login to the site and you can have look to see whats causing the issue if you like. Eg easier to help track it down if you got something to look at ?

Hi,
As for the New Blog Templates issue, it's possible that your template blog didn't run the database update script, so it's still using the old database schema, as opposed to your new blogs. Can you please update your network, or at least run the update script on your template blog, and see if it helps?
