the login button just started acting strange today, when I login, the popup window appears, and then after I enter my fb login, it no longer logins in.

UPDATE: FB login is still not working. I've disabled every plugin, and tried the latest version, and its still not working on 2 different servers. I noticed that comments plus fb logins are still working as usual. The other strange thing is after it tries to log you in, the facebook button will completely disappear from the screen, leaving nothing. It used to be that at least it would change to a logout icon after logging in.

Hiya,
I've seen some reports of folks having trouble with the latest version. We made some very strategic changes as Facebook continues to modify what is required to login/post to facebook pages from a separate web app.
Could you try rolling back to the previous version by going here:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/ultimate-facebook/
Underneath the download button you can view older versions. An earlier one may have greater compatibility. We're looking into it though.
If I can have a link to your site we can look into it and see what's going on myself.
Thanks!

Hi, I want to update that this is happening again as I write. I've tried ultimate fb version 2.0 and also 1.6.7 and they all show the same symptoms. It was fine for about a week, and now its occuring again.
I'm convinced FB changed something on their end and its causes this plugin to not work. I cannot otherwise explain why it only occurs some of the time. I hope we can get to the bottom of this and that FB would stop changing their code!
My site is still only viewable internally, so I won't be able to show it to you, but I've included the following screenshots in case they help.
- strangefblogo.jpg: it appears as this at times, when clicked, the login turns to the animation wheel, but doesn't actually login
- nofblogo.jpg: sometimes, the logo disappears entirely, cannot login
- workingfblogo.jpg: what it looks like when its working

I noticed comment plus facebook login doesn't have this issue. Login/logout works fine.

Facebook has made API changes today (5/31/12). The plugin will need to be updated to reflect these changes.

ok we cant facebook login for over 24 hours now and our community is screaming bloody murder.. all was great til yesterday...
facebook connect is working on many other sites...
please look at what its doing on paidinstyle.com telling members they are logged in but to authorize ,i never seen such pop up from FB before in my life....
facebook reported all is now fixed 3-4 days ago and while they made changes we where fine now we are not and we are live and very active site months old but doing very well so there is no way this is going to take us down, no way but we have over 200 members registered via facebook connect and now asking us to get them another account and make it reflect all the work and activity they put in to our network ...
I am freaking out guys....
I had no idea this has been going on for a week over here and still an open issue .. we are dead frozen as off yesterday and facebook says its fixed but i dont think latest version update reflects the changes correctly plus i maybe wrong but so far everyone is placing blame on each other, we are in the middle of it and must know and understand whats going on ....
way to frustrated and my users are making sure of it as well.... all we need is facebook login at this point, i don't even care about the other features of Ultimate FB right now, just want users to be able to facebook login....
we must allow our users to login and continue to use the site they now depend on..
we don't have anymore budget to get back up to the momentum we are riding right now and there is no way that everyone will stop using 3rd party api's in 2012 (especially FB and no way that we must be this scared that such things may kill us at anytime when we revolve around social api in our case)
plus,
we are all within dev. circles where this info comes much earlier then later and should know these things way before they hit us like a sledge hammer..
i am not blaming anyone as i don't know who to blame but this is business and we pay for
i cant afford this in anyway.. just need a solution and this is behind an emergency state....
we are frozen still....
PLEASE HELP, we are DEAD if this is not somehow fixed TODAY....
i am very sorry for the drama but this is to much, i did not sleep all night and now getting flooded with complains ... this is not normal....

I would not mark this as resolved, as I am still having this issue myself and the OP may be still having the same issues.
As per the link you provided to the other thread, configuring the plugin to redirect to index.php or / does absolutely nothing for me. (I actually had it configured this way to begin with) I am still unable to log into my site through Facebook, and as such, am not able to push any posts to FB through my site.
Does anyone have any updates or suggestions?

Brian, if you go to this post and look for updated patch (wpmu-dev-facebook.zip ) by @VeBailovity that he gave us this morning you might be able to resolve the issue. That worked for us like magic. Here is the URL:http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/facebook-login-does-not-work-1#post-227811
