Hi, I'm seeing two symptoms tied in with Forums: When I go to the forums page, I post a new thread, but first,I need to select the group to post to, and to which I am a member. I click on the drop-down list, but it's empty (no groups shown). Another thing I notice is that the Forum tab is missing in the sub-navigation in the group page (single group) . The sub-navigatoin consists of Home|Admin|Members|Send Invites - but the Forums tab is missing.

Hi David, this is still in development so I don't have a link to a published site. But thebest way I could describe it is if you would activate the default Buddypress theme - you'll see that when you post a new forum thread you'll be able to post the new topic to a specific group, which you belong to. The problem I have is that this dropdown does not show any groups,
Hi David, Here's a pictorial of what's missing. The drop-down list does not have any groups, and this is using the default BuddyPress theme at the moment.
Hi, I think I may have found the culprit, but don't understand why at the moment. Anyhow, I enabled the Forums after I created two groups. Somehow, these groups did not appear in the New Forum Topic dropdown-list as shown in the pictorial above. After I added a new group after enabling Forums, this drop-down got populated with that new Group, but not the earlier groups. So in summary, groups created before the Forums is enabled are not visible, but groups created after the Forums are activated are visible. Now the reasoning, I'm not sure why, maybe someone in out there might be able to shed some light?
I'm glad you got that one worked out as I was trying to replicate the situation to no avail. Nor could I find anything on the web about this particular scenario. Thanks for posting your finding here as well as I'm sure someone will stumble across the same issue in the future.
It looks as if they just didn't take into account the possibility of someone creating groups before having enabled the forums.

Hi lionsarah2011, this plugin doesn't say that it is compatible with buddypress, just multisite. That may be the problem.

I believe he's using the forums plugin included with buddypress, not the one from here.
That forums tag gets used for a few different things around here. The tag is set to display the plugin info though.
