I use a mac so most of the time I browse with safari. I had recently gotten my google analytics codes from the google site. I inserted them into the field as required. I had been installing & previewing themes for my wordpress mu site because I was trying to see what kind of look that i wanted to have but today when i went to preview themes. They would not work. I searched google for every possible solution until i decided to try & pull up the site using firefox. Firefox allowed me to find the problem. It showed the process of the screen transitioning to the preview & then suddenly going blank....meanwhile the status bar showed that it was trying to connect to google analytics. I decided to remove my google analytics codes & BINGO!!! preview is working. I hope you guys fix this because i need it to work...lol

Please remember that Safari does not fully support XHTML, HTML 4.01 and javascript. You will have problems with that browser.
The preview tried to include as much of the theme as possible. That includes the hooks in the footer.
From what you describe though, it just sounds like your computer couldn't connect to Google Analytics. They're known for having downtime. Not sure what can be done to resolve that issue.
The entire screen went blank on both browsers...safari & firefox when i tried to preview. The same problem also prevented me from being able to download install themes via the theme installer.
is there a way to make it so that you can add exceptions to the google analytics plugin so that you exclude it from trying to connect while on certain pages. I was able to do everything else but install & preview themes. Activating themes went fine.
If you have your google analytics code in a separate .php, file make sure you include that file in your new themes folder. I just realized that when I was running a new theme.

What part went blank, the iframe? We need any details you can give because I can't recreate the problem.
