Is anyone else using group blogs here?
It appears to me that if you have a group, collect members of that group and then create the blog, the members of that group are not pulled through as members of the blog.
Anyone else using th plugin, let me know your experiences.
Cheers,

@hkcharlie: Have you tried this using the default theme to test - I'd always advise you test a potential bug in BuddyPress or a plugin using the default BuddyPress theme.

FYI - the solution is called http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-community-blogs/
Probably best used with something like pluggin commander.
The plugin needs to be activated and configured on the actual group blog.

That plugin hasn't been updated for a verry long time. I would stay away from it especially considering how many changes we've had in WP and BP since then.

Aaron - do you mean group blogs or community blogs plugin?
Both seem to be doing exactly what they say they are meant to be doing.
Is this a bad thing, or do you think there are other issues with them?
Do you use group blogs?
Do either you are Tammie or anyone else have any ideas, solutions, opinions on the actual question regarding BP users populating a group blog.
Let me elaborate.
If I have set up WPMU blog for someone from my buddypress site, how would I configure the new blog to allow that user (or any other user for that matter) from my buddypress site to be an admin of the new blog.

is this (http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/17682) the answer ?

The most common approach with a group blog you would manually add the people you to be able to write posts on that blog.
So in Super Admin > Options I generally would have it set to Allow site administrators to add new users to their site via the "Users->Add New" page.
Then you would add the new users to the blog using Users > Add New (if you are doing it as a Super Admin person you would tick Skip confirmation email).
If you want to add the users in batches to the new group blog then I check out Add New Users - http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/add-new-users (if they are new users to your BuddyPress site)

OK - take this scenario.
You have a private members group on Buddypress, you have a blog associated with the private members group that has absolute privacy for members only.
After going through the process of accepting members for the group, is there a way to automate these members, to be members of the blog associated with the group?
Also, this way allows the users of your group have the same login for the blog, otherwise it appears you are potentially setting up to lots of logins.

Not sure if there is a way to automate it that way. It will depend if someone has created a plugin to do it or not.
However your members of your private group already have usernames. So what you need to do is add them using User > Add User with their current username and email address attached to their username.

thanks Sue - I see your solution, but I would still have to ask them to create a second password for that blog, right?

@hkcharlie Not at all. They will be added to the blog with their existing username so will log in with their existing username.
Once they log into their account using the admin bar they will be able to select that blog or any other blogs they are assigned to from their drop down option.

Thanks Sue, this has worked for me.
If you ever stumble across an automated methos whereby people that asign themselves to a group, become members of that groups blog, be sure to let me know.
Thanks again.
