I Am not sure exactly how to use the BP profile search plugin, i have read through all the forums and documentations on buddypress.org and WordPress.
I just need to know if i am supposed to edit a template file or something.
Cause when I put the piece of code on the members page in the dashboard it did not work.
Please Help!

Hi smartsites,
I take it you're referring to the following plugin?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-profile-search/
If so, per the instructions, you'll have to add the code to your theme:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-profile-search/installation/
Also, the support forums for that plugin are as follows, that'd be the best place to check on any issues:
