There's a number of avatar settings at the bottom of the page at Settings > Discussion, or as follows:
yourdomain.com/wp-admin/options-discussion.php
You can setup the defaults there, as far as generated avatars go.
That said, WordPress will utilize Gravatar avatars where available. I'd say that'd be the best place to change that, as the avatars would be available across a variety of services and most importantly, pretty much anything WordPress related. http://en.gravatar.com/
I see you've already got a Gravatar account setup, as you don't have a default avatar image here in the forums. That should carry over to your site as well.

If you're on a Multisite setup, you could also try the Avatars plugin from here:

And BuddyPress, if you're using it, includes avatar support itself.

Ah, got it. It's basically Gravatar or nothing. That's what I needed to know.
I've set it up for that account, and all is good now.
