That plugin seems to require the onsite PayPal Pro transactions with some kind of recurring payment option. Maybe the Gateway itself handles the recurring function for PayPal Pro. I think the current Supporter permits the use of Standard PayPal, but Pro Sites Supporter does not.
I'm not well versed on PayPal Pro, so correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that:
1. It requires additional site security like SSL to handle onsite credit card transactions.
2. To do recurring payments, an add-on option is required for PayPal Pro.
"everything is processed by PayPal, on their site using their SSL certificate and security."
I must be missing something. PayPal Pro Accepts Credit Cards on your website, to quote PayPal:
Customers Stay on Your Site: Buyers paying by credit card never leave your
site, so you control the entire payment experience.
IMHO, processing credit card info on your own site would has always entailed taking greater security precautions. Maybe it will work w/o SSL, but it is smart to do so?
Recurring Payments (Optional Add-On): Automatically bill a customer’s
credit card or PayPal account for subscriptions, membership dues, or
installment payments.
Pro also provides two options for recurring payments, could we use either?
I have not seen a Single Payment option for Pro Sites nor do I understand how to use the Manual Payment Option. I see the button on the page, but is there a way to add my own Subscribe button manually?
What I don't understand is why the PayPal Standard with the Enhanced Recurring Payment Options is not provided. No questions that Pro offers more reporting and other benefits for larger sites.

Hi Larry,
Glad those are sorted! As for your last question, Supporter itself only provides for a single level of subscription. However, the Pro Sites plugin, very soon to be released, is already available in the following thread.
http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/pro-sites-supporter-30-beta-7-release
It provides full multi-level support (you create as many levels as you like) and a bunch of additional features to boot. Care to give that a go?

WIll Pro Sites replace Supporter?

Hiya Larry,
None of the PayPal gateways require on-site SSL - everything is processed by PayPal, on their site using their SSL certificate and security.
You can do single and recurring payments through the payment gateways provided and yes, Pro Sites will replace Supporter.
Cheers,
