How to restrict plugin activation in sub-blogs in a multisite environment
Hi All
I have a site based on MU, with buddypress and multisite. I have some plugins in the main/parent off all that are very spcial and developed for the main site.
Now, The subsites (subsite.mainsite.com) because they are MU, can have their own users and they can create their own blog.
When you create your own blog in a subsite you get to be the administrator of that blog but now you can see the plugins we have in the main site (www.mainsite.com) and you have the option to activate them. I can not have that. Even more, I need to prevent any blogger to upload a plugin.
How can I ever do this? Ideas?

I'm a bit confused on your setup. So rather than just a normal WPMU install with all its blogs, you also have multiple sites with their own siteadmin options, etc?
Have you tried WPMU Plugin Manager? I can't think of anything in it that may not be compatible with multiple sites. Where you really run into issues there is if an mu-plugin uses its own tables tied to blog id and not site.

Hi Aaron
I have been trying to download the plugin manager but every time i try i get stuck because it asks me to log in. I go and use my account on premium and wont work, click on register and comes to the login page again. I know it sounds like an end user and almost stupid question but i cannot figure out what is it that i am doing wrong.
Wpmudev.org is a seperate wp install so you will need to register for that as well. We are working on making the downloads there not require registration again. Some things got messed up there when we upgraded things here.
I try to register on wpmudev.org but the registration is taking me to the premium.wpmudev.org registration. perhaps i am doing something wrong. could you help me on this? I really need to get this plugin.
quick question: to become a member of wpmudev.org (not the premium) do you have to pay also?
