Before you run-off and with the plug-in of your dreams, only to find there's a new Prince Charming right around the corner, you might check out Event Planner It's based completely on custom post so compatibility and larding down your install with extra database tables are not issues.
I've been testing Event Planner, Event Manager (which is great), and Event Espresso. So far I'm liking Event Planner best. Just FYI.

I use this plugin, it is really great, and works on multi-site too, so all events are displayed on the main site...fantastic! :)

Nice one !!! But event manager is fully budypress integrated !!! This one too ?
Seems that event manager also use the custom post types....
I give him a try....
Well, at first it does not come with a pot file nore translation :(
Seems to be great, but at the moment it is not really "finished".
