Hi:
I am in need of support to help me resolve the following setup error when I am configuring Multi-DB to work on my network.
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'pedageo_wrdp2'@'dedicated17.tchmachines.com' (using password: YES) in /home/pedageo/public_html/wp-content/scripts/move-blogs.php on line 64<br />
Could not connect to mysql
I have followed the pre installation and set up instructions exactly through to Step 4 with no incident. However, when I run move-blogs.php from the web browser I get the above error. I have double-checked my settings in the move-blogs.php file and my user access privileges for my database, but I am still getting this error.
The correct user is attached to MySQL database in CPanel, but I still get the above error. Can someone help me with this issue?
I'd like to complete the database configuration to expand and grow my network.
Thanks,
Shinshuri,

Greetings Shinshuri,
Thank you for this great question and bringing this significant issue to our attention.
The error you are getting appears to be a permissions or password error.
Other then those items just mentioned this is a real tough one to figure out or trouble shoot without digging into the system both cPanel and WordPress admin.
Please check to make sure that your database user has all permissions and please triple check the password.
Please advise if you are able to resolve the issue with my above suggestions or not.
Cheers, Joe

Hi Joe:
I have not been able to figure this out. I have double checked the password multiple times.
What is the best way to trouble shoot that the password and user name actually works fine and that it is not a configuration issue inside of the move-blogs.php files?

Greetings Shinshuri,
Thank you for the quick and kind reply :-)
In checking into the suggested possibility that it is possibly a problem with the move-blogs.php file, I went ahead and checked it against the one I have and there has not been a single change since before I was part of the staff.
I wanted to make sure though in case the lead developer managed to sneak one in on me .... lol
After review of the error again this morning with a fresh head on my shoulders, I actually believe the problem is in the db-config.php file and that you should change all instances of dedicated17.tchmachines.com settings within the db-config.php file to reflect "localhost"
Please let me know if that does the job for you.
Cheers, Joe
