Is SOCIAL based off the BP-DEFAULT theme?
Great question and I really do not know what it is based on and the original developer is long gone from WPMU Dev so I cannot ask him what he based it on.
Any chance you have looked over it's coding and see if it is too much to bother with? Or perhaps activated it on your WordPress installation?
