Hi!
I need to find the folder where Mamp Pro saves the mysql databases. I've searched high and low and of course I've looked in the folders that there supposed to be in.
Where can I find them? Why can't I search for the folders names, in the Mamp (free version) I can find and browse through the folders and search for them. But the Mamp Pro DB folders are totally invisible.
Please help me, I rellay don't wan't to start over.
(the reason I need to find it is so I can access them through Time machine and backup. and yes, I'm gonna improve my backups after this..)
Thanks!

Hi!
Still no news on this? Would be really great if someone could point me in the right direction since Mamp doesn't seem to have any support...
Dont really know why I got the pro licens since it didn't really save me any time with the new functionality.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you

Haven't used it in awhile I use windows pc now and run xampp: but it was something like this
Applications > MAMP > db > mysql folder and in there will be all your databases

Hi Jonathan,
Yeah, that's where they're supposed to be, and also, if you're running the free version of Mamp, that's indeed where they are.
However, in Mamp Pro that location is changed and it is not in the location it should be, i.e. library/Application Support/appsolute/....

Lol - then I haven't got a clue. As of last year Jan it was there - they must have changed it then. Sorry I couldn't be of help.
Try running a search for folder [yourdatabase] or extension .frm like wp_posts.frm - it should pick up the location and files

That's what I thought too, but it doesn't even show up in searches, I can find all old databases from the free Mamp version, but not a darn thing about the databases that Pro has created!
So, I'll probably have to start from scratch, and it's not the end of the world, but it would be pretty good to now where the data ends up.
Thanks for your time, hopefully someone with more knowledge about it comes around :)

Unfortunately I don't have Mamp Pro and haven't used MAMP for agggges!
So I went and grabbed a copy and created a DB. I then found it here:
/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/db/mysql/testdb2012
Screenshot attached.
Hope this helps.

Hi Timothy, thanks for your time!
Well, as I said before, the folder is not where it's supposed to be, or it's in that case not visible for some reason.
I've attached an image of what I see when I navigate to the same folder you did. Am I missing something?

I'm logged in as the admin on this machine and can see so I'm not sure why you can't.
I think in this instance the best thing to do would be probe their support as they will know best from developing MAMP.
Are you looking at:
/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/
Or:
/Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/appsolute/MAMP PRO/
Take care.

*Sigh* Apparently I'm an idiot. Was 100% sure I looked in the right folder and with root access.
Guess what? I did not.
So the bad news is that I'm stupid and the good news would be that it is now working!
Thank you!
