I have set this up on other sites and it works flawlessly, but for some reason I am having problems with this installation. I was using it in conjunction with the supporter plugin, but have since turned it off. It does not matter because the same thing happens either way. Whenever I use the domain mapping feature it reverts back to the root directory, main blog home page of the wp install url. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am not a real tech savvy guy so talk to me like you would talk to a child please. That is why I really like WP. I don't have to be tech savvy. Thanks!

It is working fine, but here is the issue. When I log in as super admin, the domain mapping tool works great for the domain names that I am adding. However, when I log in as a user who has been upgraded to pro through the supporter plugin, instead of the domain being added to the current website, it acts as a forward and goes to the home page of the main blog. It also does not add it. When I click add as a user rather than super admin, it just flashes back to the box and does not show that the domain was added. When I go to the domain name that is supposed to be mapped it just forwards to the main site. Kind of strange really.

That does sound strange. Are you still having this issue or did you get it sorted?

Hi orionprofits. Hope your having a great day!
If the domains are falling to the root install then it sounds like that is working fine.
When you create a new site in your multisite install can you access that site ok?
Could you take a screenshot of the domain name mapping settings for a site with a mapped domain please?

I am having this problem with my site rawlsfamilyphotos.info reverting to the main wp install ajrawls.com
Support Chimp — 2nd February 2012 (3 months ago) #
So ajrawls.com is your main domain and this website is set up as a network install?
What is the subdomain or subfolder address for: rawlsfamilyphotos.info?
When I enter:
anything.ajrawls.com I get a not found error, like wildcard is not set up for the domain.
when I enter:
ajrawls.com/somewebsite - I get a content not found error.
Can we please check your network is fully set up and the htaccess file is complete and correct:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network#.htaccess_and_Mod_Rewrite
Let me know how you get on. :-)
Take care.
