Hey guys, thanks for all your bug reports. I'm hoping this release will fix all reported bugs.
1.0.2 - 10/01/2010
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Fixed bug with paging on product/taxonomy lists
- Fixed title on taxonomy list pages
- Hopefully added a workaround to detect and deal with poorly written plugins that flush rewrite rules before init
- Fixed bug that incorrectly showed out of stock button when stock remained

also, i am using the blog mu theme and one thing i noticed is that on my "store" tab/button when i hover it the drop downs for products, shopping cart, order status don't appear like they do on other themes.. how can i fix this?
also an ETA on grid style layout option for products when any (global or individual) categories are clicked on?
it would also be nice to have a grid product shortcode for pages/posts that allows you to select how many column/rows of products to display and random/price/date like the widget.
can you explain how the advanced Adaptive Payments gateway works?
how does my fee % get deducted and transfered to me? is it billed to the seller after the purchase? if yes, what if they don't pay it? does that automatically disable their website or something?
just trying to understand the flow here from the admin side when implementing the advanced Adaptive Payments gateway.
also... the MP widget for displaying global products the button background for "buy now" does not show on any buddypress pages.. it is only visible on the store pages.
same issue with the widget for the shopping cart.. styling for the table etc (grey background/borders) is only showing on shopping cart pages and website pages.. not showing on any buddypress pages.
Hi guys. Please include 2Checkout and Moneybookers in future release. This also goes for Membership and Supporter plugins. The truth is it will generate many new members for WPMUDEV also.
Hello, It says "fully-documented plugin APIs for adding your own custom Shipping or Payment Gateway modules."
Can you tell me where this is at. I found paypal-express.php and Im guessing that I would rename that to something like "authorize-net.php" and just change the parameters in the file, but it looks extremely confusing to me. Is there a documentation explaining the steps?
Thanks James. I would just like to elaborate why are those two gateway solutions necessary. For us and for you.
2Checkout
- supports payment via PayPal which is a huge benefit for buyers and sellers from Eastern Europe and some countries on other continents... so here we are talking about tens of milions of potential shoppers and supliers who don't have access to PayPal services
Moneybookers:
- supports all major credit cards
- very simple way of sending/receiving money
- many people use it
Of course, I must repeat myself, all of this means new WPMUDEV members.
Can you tell me where this is at. I found paypal-express.php and Im guessing that I would rename that to something like "authorize-net.php" and just change the parameters in the file, but it looks extremely confusing to me. Is there a documentation explaining the steps?
You have it right. All the vars and methods in that file are documented completely, so you can know what to do in each method and how it applies to each checkout step. Of course you must be familiar with programming and integrating with the API of your choice. Most gateway APIs have sample code you can use.
Definitely understand the no ETA policy. But appreciate the mention of priority level. That's good enough for me. :) Looking forward to the next version!
You havn't added an authorized application id in the super admin gateway settings for Chained payments. If you are in sandbox mode though you don't need one.
I don't want to be borring, rude, anoying or anything but I just found out that me and my team got a project for one local company so I have to repeat myself (yes, inside the same thread in less than 24 hours). I would need straight answer if that's possible.
We have to build comunity with stores. Ideal for Supporter+MarketPress. Adding Pay Per Blog and Membership is also an option. Of course, gateway is a problem. We need 2Checkout for it (this is the repeating part). So these are my questions:
1. Will it be included in next release
2. If it will, will that happen in next 30-45 days
We have 2 months to finish this web and we are prepared to take the risk and wait... if it's worth it. I will understand if you can not answer me (but please try). In that case will probably go again with Magic Members + Ecwid Shopping Cart WP Plugin or hacked version of Shopp. But we really want to build a web supported by your plugs.
We feel that paying for yearly WPMUDEV membership is great bargain but we need to know what are your time frames for releasing plugins. It is crucial when you're in situation to accept/reject big job like this. In the end, we use your plugs to earn money just like you use our money to develop plugs:)

Hiya Marko,
We need 2Checkout for it (this is the repeating part). So these are my questions:
1. Will it be included in next release
2. If it will, will that happen in next 30-45 days
We're going to be adding new gateways for Supporter/Membership/MarketPress and we're working hard to get them all out ASAP. I'm not exactly sure where 2Checkout ranks in the pecking order as Authorize.net seems to be the one people are asking for most.
That being said, a developer familiar with setting up 2Checkout gateways could easily use the paypal gateway file in MarketPress already to create this gateway for you. My thought is, why wait? Contact a few of the developers on the Job Board or post a request there. When you have a response, you can easily move forward knowing you'll have everything you need. http://premium.wpmudev.org/wpmu-jobs/
One of the devs can chime in if they like, but my personal 2 cents would be to pursue this route.
Thanks again for your interest! Promise we're working at 200%! :D
I believe You do. As I said, I didn't want to insult anyone. We just nedeed to know where we stand at the moment. Working with someone online on such big matter is not what I prefer but thanks for mention it. 2Checkout over Authorize.net cause people who have PaPal account can pay to those who dont. Which is not the case with Authorize.net.
We'll probably go with Ecwid plugin for now although is's not self hosted solution. But thanks anyway for your detailed anser. I appreviate it. Now go play golf:)
I'm hoping to have it done this month. It is next on the list after authorize.net. I can't make any promises though. We don't give eta's or even pre-announce plugins here as
* People get mad if we miss them
* People cancel their membership to wait for it
* Sometimes higher priorities come up
just wondering if i set up the paypal part incorrectly. After clicking checkout and being redirected to paypal url, Is a customer required to sign up with paypal in order to complete the sale?
thats what i thought. I wonder what i did wrong, because when i try to checkout from my site, I get a secure payments checkout page but it says "create a paypal account or log in"..
do you think i could have entered a wrong api "type" or something?
maybe i signed up for the wrong type of account. hmm I'll call them...
Is there a way, either natively or via integration with a third party plugin, to have multiple product images in a gallery style view of some sort? And if not is this functionality planned?
Simply putting images into the body of the product listing seems quite clumsy and using the "featured image" is to limiting only being a single image.
Is it possible to have the store page just be the root of the site? Obviously I can set the default root page for WordPress to be the store page, but the permalink structure for MarketPress itself doesn't seem to allow for that... when "store" is removed from the store base field the sub urls look correct but result in 404's.
The current setup works fine if your store is a sub-section of a greater site, but if your site IS your store then it seems redundant to require the additional level in the url.
Root page - I setup our demo store like that http://wp-ecommerce.org/store1/
I think I had to use a custom wp menu and put the actual link to that store in it to get the drop down menu to show though.
Yep! Just go to Settings>Reading on your store site and change "Front page displays" to "Static Page" and then select your store page.
That's what I was talking about when I said I set the default root page for WordPress to be the store page but as mentioned above that results in a 404 on the subsiquent pages (products, shopping cart etc.)
You still have "/store/" in your url's, resulting in /store1/store/products/... If the store page is set to be the root page for the site you should be able to set the remaining permalinks to be simply http://mysite.com/products/ as the store1 part is redundant.
I have a problem. I just unticked the "Paypal express" box and saved. I am now unable to access the site at all, front end and admin. What file are the settings saved in? Or are they saved in the DB? I'm hoping if I change it back it will work again, then I can deal with a reason...
hey guys, i just now got to learn about marketpress and i have to say that i'm very impressed. i can think of a variety of ways that this plugin will be better than my current cart solution for some things. very much looking forward to watching its progress and will patiently wait for authorize.net ability.
if a seller has a return and refunds to a buyer do the fees automatically get refunded back to the seller? is there a notification of when this happens or anything?
No they don't from my testing. You the site admin have to initiate a refund. Not sure why paypal doesn't do that. Hence the text on the gateway settings screen for sellers.
as you said you would look at the bug where you untick paypal express and the whole website dies I thought I would also mention an issue with the shopping cart. I add a product and that works fine. I add another product and it doesn't add it to the cart, instead it replaced the previous item.
I hope a patch to resolve these comes out quickly. Have had to move our site launch date.
In the meantime can someone please tell me how to manually turn the express checkout setting back on manually? Presumably I will be able to use the site again then. I can't just delete the plugin to access the website, Marketpress IS the website.
Are there features planned that allow for the buyer to set the currency they wish to use for their purchases? I know that the store owner can set the default currency, but can the user choose?
This would be a great feature for a global marketpress site.

Ok, found the bug there and an update will be out today. If you want to recover a blog with this issue you can go into phpmyadmin and delete the "mp_settings" option in that blog's options table. This will restore all default options next page load.

Found this plugin and I think that it would be neat to have similar functionality as MarketPress (or evenSupporter) addon or something:

Just a suggestion.

It will only add those to themes that already support drop down menus. You can use the store links shortcode in pages or a text widget instead.
The store owner gets the full payment minus fees, and at the same time the percentage fee is paid to you automatically and instantly from the store owners paypal account.

Sounds like a css conflict or the css is not getting loaded on BP pages for some reason. I'll check it out.
Those are planned for MarketPress.
No ETAs, sorry. I will say that it is at the top of the list for the next feature update along with product options and more gateways.

i had posted something that ended up being my own mistake.. if you have a test product at $0 it won't check out..
but what does this mean:
There was a problem connecting to PayPal to setup your purchase. Please try again.
* 560029 - The required X-PAYPAL-APPLICATION-ID header is missing from the HTTP request
