thanks aaron,
is there a way to make the "Check out our most popular products:" shortcode display the images of the popular products instead of just links? maybe in a grid format?
Popular products is basically a preset version of the product list function/shortcode/widget. Those can be set to display images. As far a a grid listing, that's a matter of css.
Isn't it a hassle? I looked out many ways around this, but had to stick with the current format. Perhaps you are trying to checkout with a real paypal account? You have to use sandbox credentials for all keys and emails.
small suggestion. i'd like an option to add a "check out now" button on any page that has an add to cart button just in case someone doesn't want to or can't use the widget. otherwise it is kind of hard to get to the checkout. make sense?
things are really coming together now that you've released this and the membership and affiliate plugins. great work guys! very much looking forward to tracking the progress and development of all of this stuff.
Thanks for the fixes. We can get going again. Was wondering if there were plans to make the "quick edit" feature customisable? At the moment most of the options are not really relevant. Would think you could set the price in quick edit for example or quickly change the featureed image.

aaron, thanks so much! that was it. now hopefully they can get on with it and get it approved :)
I checked in with you a few weeks ago, and wanted to check in again. When do you believe this will be incorporated: File downloads/digital product support?

is there a way that i can create preset categories and sub-blogs can select from those categories only and not be able to create new categories?
i am just thinking if the sub-blogs are able to create unlimited categories that would make for a huge list when displaying global categories on the main site..
is there a way that i can create preset categories
Unfortunately no, taxonomies in wordpress are stored on a blog by blog basis. And there aren't the right hooks in wp to enable this, which is why no plugins exist like this for regular tags/cats.
"You are not allowed to manage orders." - No matter what user Iog in as I con't change the status of orders. Users are all administrators.
I still have the shopping cart issue also where I can only add one product. Going live on Monday 9am GMT and although there are other issues these are the only ones stopping us at the moment. :S
Can't believe noone else has caught that bug! Guess it didn't happen to Super Admins. Fixed in 1.0.4, thanks!
I still have the shopping cart issue also where I can only add one product.
I'm having trouble figuring that out or recreating. What it seems is that the existing cookie is not loading in the ajax handler, so getting completely overriden each time a product is added. Have you tried disabling other plugins?
Ok, looks to have to do with cookie paths and the incredibly strange setup of your WP install and directories. I'm using the proper COOKIEPATH wp define for the cart cookies, which adds the /store/ path to them, so they don't get sent to the ajax handler.
It appears you are using single WP, but the install files are in your webroot, though the site has a subfolder applied to it? Very weird setup, why would you do it that way?
Is this the fact that it ends up being domain/store/store ?
If that's what you mean then I have no idea why it's like that, always wondered why it was like that and don't recall changing anything that would affect that.
I could kiss you :D I won't though, don't worry. That's all working just fine. Thankyou so much. It's 1AM here I'm going to go and sleep for an hour so that I have a slightly fresher head to speak to your theme people in live chat at 2AM GMT.
Seeing as you're on a roll and I'm feeling cheeky, I know you're busy but have you had a chance to look at this?
just wanted to add that regarding secure digital download, integrating with Amazon S3 would be fantastic.
I was also wondering if there was a way to load products in using an .csv file. I know there is a plugin for importing posts from .csv so perhaps there would be a way to covert them to products?

hi aaron,

how would i go about changing the preset on the shortcode to display images?
and also how would css be used to change the shortcode output? can you give me an example?

Hi
Is this still the case? I want to create a giant category list on my main WPMU install and all the sub blog marketpress stores choose from existing categories.
If we cant share cats from blog to blog, does this mean we have to create the same sub cats on each related product store?
If the cats have the same name on different stores how do you refer to them with the [mp_list_global_products category=xxxx] shortcode? Being global would mean i can refer to other cats from other stores right?
Well, judging from the response it looks like you do have to input the same categories into each sub blog. No biggie
I have also found that if I enter the exact same category names in multiple blogs and then list products in that category the [mp_list_global_products category=xxx] works a treat.
Now I have another dilemma.
When I list products within a certain category it will list them. BUT if the products are within a sub-category of the stated cat it does not work.
If you want to list items by a cat name of RED it works.
If you want to list items by a cat name of COLORS it will not list any products in sub categories.

Hiya John,
I'll ask one of the devs to comment on this, but sometimes these longer threads get a bit lost in the shuffle. You'll do better starting a new thread. This one, for instance is really about MarketPress 1.0.3 and 1.0.4. We're now at 1.1 so this thread isn't the best place.

i am trying to get my dev app id # from paypal and it has been quite a hassle.
their most resent request was to put it in sandbox so they can complete a check out.. which i have now done but when you try to check out it says:
"520009 - Account xxxxx@gmail.com is restricted"
my paypal account is not restricted.
do you know what this means?
thanks,
gina

Aaron,
Darn, okay. That's literally the only part of this plugin we need! We don't sell any physical items. But I suppose you deserve a vacation. ;)

Check settings general and edit the blog url to remove the /store/

Great! I will test that out, it will be great to see it integrated into the plugin though, I'm sure many would agree.

it looks like the [mp_list_global_products] shortcode only lists products from the main WPMU install.
It does not list products from other child blogs.
Is there a workaround for this?
