I have tried to search the forum and found only single thread about this and not real instruction.
I would like to have comments on my product pages in marketplace (and to add to it Comment Plus).
The problem is currently all I have on my products pages is "Comments are closed" and if/when I activate Comments Plus i can see the switch of the comments display box...

I know of a couple places that could possibly be dinging this up - first of all in the WP Site Dashboard --> Settings --> Discussion
a check mark should be in the box for "Allow people to post comments on new articles"
and the other place is on the posts themselves under the Discussion heading which by default does not appear unless you choose to show it by check marking Discussions found in the screen option tab in the top right of the actual post in which when check marked then shows the Discussion box below the post in which a check mark should be in the box for "Allow Comments"
For the items above I include two screenshots in respective order.

after taking another look at your page in comparison to my test Grid Market Install, I found that you are not using the standard "comments" but are using some other widget to display the comments to include Facebook and Twitter.
What Plugin is that because that is where the problem appears to be?

Bouth are OK, and the comments are working in the BLOG section... only in MarketPress section I have problems...

This is WPMU Comments Plus....
And I have the same error without it...
Disabled it for debugging purpose...

I have not been able to reproduce your error sir - but our install is when I was a Member and I customized the code.
Therefore, I shall go ahead and re-install with the unmodified theme and see if I can come up with a comment solution.
As Arnie says - I'll be back ....

I actually found out debugging it that comments are disabled for products custom type.
I have created a plugin that can enable it, and now only waiting for Wordpress.org to confirm my plugin request to post it.
I will post a link here for all to use.

Hey sirshuf,
nice one feller, my wife has been hunting around for a fix to comments closed problems for a few hoiurs this morning, now she is a happy lady!
Just sent you a few points across to say thanks, also Devs note, shouldn't this be part of the marketpress plugin?
