Latest buddypress and wpmu and tos plugin.
A person can register without ticking the tos checkbox. Do I need to make the field mandatory somewhere? Its on the buddypress register (subscribe-now) page. If they don't enter their name, email address etc it prompts you and does not let you continue, however it doesn't matter if the tos checkbox is ticked or not. I've uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled and checked that there isn't an old version in the mu-plugins folder.
I've deactivated it for now until I understand what's going on.
Any ideas most appreciated. Thanks.

It would be helpful if you stated what specific versions of the software you were running. The latest version if the 3.1RC. Support for that won;t occur until the full 3.1 release is made.
Can you please check to see what's in your webserver's error logs? We probably also need the plugin activated to try it out on your site.

Hiya allingtm,
That is pretty odd. I'll ask Aaron if he has any ideas on this one.
Thanks!

I've tested with the gallery theme latest version and all your plugin versions and it is working fine. What version of gallery are you using?
Member (joined September 2009) Likes (0)
Hi Aaron,
It's Gallery version 1.0.3
It's not giving any errors anywhere that I can see, but I'm not sure where I should be looking for them? Is that something else I could check?
Thanks for your help so far.

Something wierd is going on with your install. Signup error messages for example should show over their respective fields.
Are you sure you have not made any template file changes? Or maybe using a plugin that prints the registration form somewhere else?

Hi Aaron,
It's completely stock. I've removed it and readded it to see if it was an install problem. I've also checked to make sure an old version was removed from mu-plugins.
Something Interesting:
I've just changed Super Admin -> options -> Allow new registrations to "User accounts may be registered." and tried to register and it works fine (using native registration) - telling me that I have to agree to the terms of service.
Now changing it back: Super Admin -> options -> Allow new registrations to "Registration is disabled." and tried it again (so now it is using the Membership Registration Form) and it does not work.
Does that help to diagnose what it might be?
Thanks for your help.

Ahh, theres the key. You should have mentioned it.
This and probably all other BP registration plugins are not designed to work with the Membership plugin form. I'm surprised that there even was the hooks in it to show the TOS box at all. Perhaps Barry meant for them to work, I'll flag him on it to see if it's an easy fix in the membership plugin.

Hi Aaron, sorry for the confusion. As Membership and TOS support buddypress I assumed that they were happy working together as well (especially as it shows on the registration form). If there is an easy fix then that will be great. I'll deactivate TOS now and hope for an update soon. Thanks to everyone who looked at this.

Has there been any update on this issue? I've just noticed that TOS is not working with BP registration -- At the moment, I just leave it on, in hopes the user checks the box, but dat ain't a long-term solution...

Is the terms of service plugin working with buddypress and membership?

I just tried the TOS plugin on WP 3.3, BP 1.5.2 and the membership 2.1.4 plugin on a 3rd party salutation theme. It allows me to register without checking the I agree, so it seems to be broken.

@bigt11 - this is a very old thread for an earlier version of both plugins - can you start a new one and let us know the versions of both plugins and wp that you are using?
