Membership plugin add-on - gravity forms shortcodes

Staff

Hi all
Gravity forms is a very popular plugin for adding contact and data collection forms to your website.
It uses shortcodes for the place holders of particular forms in the post and page edit forms, which are then replaced with the relevant form on the public side of your site.
Unfortunately it appears that the Gravity forms plugin only registers (adds) a shortcode to WordPress on the public serving side of the plugin and, thus, the shortcode isn't shown in the membership plugins shortcode list.

As this problem is still in the latest version of the Gravity Forms plugin (v.1.3.13.1), rather than asking you to keep editing your Gravity Forms code, I have created an add-on plugin for the membership plugin:

You can grab it from here:
http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership-plugin-gravity-forms-shortcode

Simply unzip the plugin and place the php file inside the memerbshipincludes/plugins directory.

Gotta hand it to ya - mad props for this one Barry. Sometimes it's the little things. I was just looking at this (as they've announced a new update to be released shortly) and thinking about having to make the manual file changes each time a version is released, but here is a solution read to go.

Sincerest thanks! Keep at it!

Hi Barry,

I am a noob here. I've followed your instructions and added the gravityforms shortcode plugin into memerbshipincludes/plugins directory. However, I don't see any effects.

May i know what exactly do Gravityforms to in this case?

Thanks!
Cheers

@Jiahui -

May i know what exactly do Gravityforms to in this case?

Nothing, this add on simply adds the gravity forms shortcode to the membership admin area - it doesn't effect how gravity forms operates in any way really.

HI Barry,

Thanks for the quick response.
May I know which part of the membership admin area it will GF appear on?

Another question,
Does this mean that we can format the signup form on Membership? Is there a way we can make use of Gravity Forms to create different sign up forms for each different kind of subscriptions?

Thanks so much!
Regards
J

Hiya J,

The GravityForms plugin uses shortcodes to enable you to embed your form on any post or page. I believe this plugin just makes sure that those shortcodes stay available to you and aren't 'broken' by memberships blocking of specific shortcodes. It allows them to work together.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi James,

I see. May I know if there are any particular functionality within Membership that allows me to control what information is collection from users when they sign up?

I know this functionality comes with BuddyPress. I am just wondering if users were to sign up, will Membership overrides the BuddyPress sign up or vice versa? Is there a way to control which one is the overriding one?

Thanks!
J

Jiahiu's question was never answered and I also would like to know:

"May I know if there are any particular functionality within Membership that allows me to control what information is collection from users when they sign up?

In general, it would be great to know how Membership relates to Buddypress (one or the other/both work together? How/where does Gravity forms fit in?).

Thanks

Can you post a php to enable Fast and Secure contact forms, I already have alot of forms started, rather to keep that plug instead of converting to another plug.

I am also confused as to how to use this plugin. I have gravity forms installed. I created a form, but I don't see anywhere in the membership plugin admin where the form submissions can be seen. It doesn't appear that the gravity form data is connected with the membership plugin registration.

I cannot seem to find this plugin anymore. Was it removed?

Thanks guys!

MinFli

It seems to be included in the Membership plugin as standard.

Take a look at /wp-content/plugins/membership/membershipincludes/plugins
