I am using the membership plugin on a subblog and have Buddypress on my multisite...
Is there a way to also disable registrations on subblogs, rather from the network admin?
That way the membership plugin can be used on subblogs for various products without having to create a social profile on the main site (or worse, they try and register again when purchasing a membership)

Hiya!
That sounds a bit tricky actually. Without registration, how do you suppose the subscription process would work? Would users be required to be logged in before the subscription process maybe?
Guess I was thinking out loud before thinking that through, but that's really the problem I want to solve..
That if a community member (that signed up normally) wants to purchase a membership on a subblog, that they don't get confused by having to log in first then hitting refresh. Sounds simple but simple things tend to confuse most people..
Is there a way that I can set a login that redirects back to the sign up page perhaps so that they go straight to the membership options?

Hiya,
Just checking if it was eventually resolved in another thread? Or by yourself separately to us? Or by us over email with you? Or using our live support?
If so, no need to reply, that's great news.
If not, could you let us know by re-opening this topic, and we'll get onto it and helping you out asap!
Otherwise, happy days, glad you got it sorted :)

Hiya George,
It is a tricky one. The way WordPress handles registrations in multisite context makes it very difficult to even give the appearance of independent registrations.
You can activate it on that individual sub-site, and then redirect them to their site-specific membership form. I'm thinking it won't quite cut it though, but let me know.

Hey there! :-)
Just checking in to see how things are going with this one and if you need any further help. :-)
We haven't heard from you on this thread for a while, perhaps you got help over email. I'm going to presume your all fixed up now and don't need any further assistance.
However if you have more questions or need some more help then please feel free to respond in this thread or create a new one and we will be more than happy to offer assistance. :-)
We have a free community site and premium library where we store and sell our materials.
1. I set up the library as a subsite.
2. Installed 'User Management' so that it will sync users to my sites
3. Install Membership and activate it only to the Library
4. I use the AJAX Login Widget (Free one) to login and use its redirect feature to redirect to the Library Homepage.
5. Then all the protection is done at the access level of the Library
6. Later on, I can ENABLE the Membership Plugin to my root site which is the community if ever we wanted to have membership for our groups.

Hey masonjames,
Nope, not yet unfortunately. You have a take on a solution?

Hiya George,
It is a tricky one. The way WordPress handles registrations in multisite context makes it very difficult to even give the appearance of independent registrations.
If you want to redirect from login you can use our login redirect plugin to link them to the membership form:

You can activate it on that individual sub-site, and then redirect them to their site-specific membership form. I'm thinking it won't quite cut it though, but let me know.
