Are you both using an older child theme? I am unsure what you mean @aecnu but those files aren't missing they aren't used in the updated themes so it isn't an issue that will cause any problems - lets not cause panic by claiming it's a significant issue :) However, we need to see if you are both using old child themes or there is something still calling those files that aren't used anymore in the parent.

Hello Laurie,
I installed the latest version of the theme. Then activated the child theme as well and checked my error logs. Its clean. I suggest that you do a fresh installation of the theme after deleting what you already have if that is possible.
May I ask, is the errors causing any problems with the normal operation of the website?
OK, I'll try a fresh installation. Let me double check something, though. I'm a little confused about updating a child theme, since that's where all my customizations are. How will I keep the customizations if I'm replacing files? Sorry to be daft!
Also, should I re-install the whole theme (parent and child?) or just the child?

Hello Laurie,
When you update the theme, you have update both the theme and the child theme as well. Start off with a back up of both your theme and your child theme. Then copy back all the files in the child theme that you think you edited.
Could you please update both the theme and the child theme and try?
OK, I figured it out. I had made some customizations to the header.php file, so it was in my child theme. However, when I updated, the older version (with my customizations) was taking precedence. I went through the new header.php file and added my customizations to it. That seemed to have done the trick.

Hello Laurie,
Did you try updating your child theme as the developer Tammie suggested? I am assuming you did, and am gonna mark this thread as resolved for now.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask them away, we are here to help :)

Oh, sorry - somehow missed the response from Tammie.
I am using the updated parent theme and child theme (4.1.7).

Hello Laurie,
That is exactly the way it should work. The files in the child theme are more important than the ones in the Parent theme.
Happie times are back!
