Ive just been told that multisite marketpress is designed for lots of different paypal accounts and not just a singular account. My site just has the singular. I want the software to work the way it was intended. Im looking to enter the individual paypal account details for each individual store. Shouldn't the details be on this screen for each store?

Hi dfstorm
Ive just been told that multisite marketpress is designed for lots of different paypal accounts and not just a singular account.
For each individual store you can use the same e-mail address. But yes MarketPress is designed so that people can also have their own stores within a multisite install.
You could use a plugin like "New Blog Template" to define the settings of each site as you create them.
please read this thread. http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/cant-remove-items-from-cart
Paying attention to the part written by Aaron which says "MarketPress is not coded for this kind of use, though it works in a limited fashion. The MarketPress global carts was designed with the assumption that each store is a different business and PayPal account."
The situation is confusing enough without the recommendation of plugins which duplicate blog details as this is what i have at the moment. I'm not sure why you would recommend the use of it on this thread.

Hi dfstorm

I gave that advice based on your first post:
Ive just been told that multisite marketpress is designed for lots of different paypal accounts and not just a singular account. My site just has the singular.
Im looking to enter the individual paypal account details for each individual store.
To which I responded:

Then in your post:
Shouldn't the details be on this screen for each store?
Well the answer to this is no, they shouldn't be for each store by default. You have to define them in each store.
So I thought to save you time when creating each website the "New Blog Template" could replicate the data and default site for you, thus saving you time and effort. Thats the reason I suggested the plugin for you.
Please accept my apologies, I was not under the impression we were discussing the issue with checkout limitations due to the Paypal API or how the current MarketPress version handles that. I simply thought by reading your first post that you wanted an easy way to replicate information such as the Paypal address.
I need to enter individual paypal info for each subsite. right.
so i go to the individuals stores dashboard, then products, store settings, then payments.
there is only an option to enter a paypal email address here.
Is this all that needs to be changed?
what about the paypal api info for all the different accounts?
So with global cart enabled and individual paypal email addresses entered in the substores,
the money from sales of global products goes to the mainsite paypal account?
Can you also clarify if this is the preferred way for marketpress to work?
Is this the same thing your trying to do or are you trying to set up a bunch of "blogs with products" and then get paid a commission with "Enable Global shopping cart"
No, I don't want the commission i want the whole payment. This is only because i thought it would be easier. When i was setting this site up (6 months ago), chained payments and commissions didn't seem to be working that well, judging from what i was reading on the forums.

"You have to define them in each store."
where do i define the details?

Hey there! :-)
In a single site its just the one admin panel which you show within your screenshot.
In a multisite install you would go to the same admin panel for each website/store dashboard.
Take care.

this is a multisite and i am in the individual dashboard of a store. look at the address in the screenshot

Hi.
I gave you instructions for both. So with you being in a multisite:
So you would go to the dashboard of every subsite you have which has its own cart. The admin process is the same for each one.
Take care.

Hey dfstorm.
When you are running as a global cart, then you enter just the Paypal address for each separate site as the form requests.
If you did not have "Global cart" enabled then you would have an API for each site.

the money from sales of global products goes to the mainsite paypal account?

@dfstorm I have taking a look at this tread and it is not making sense to me
I have set this up on BlogLines.co.za
1) http://bloglines.co.za/getawebsite/
2) http://greenerlifestyle.bloglines.co.za/store/products/
Is this the same thing your trying to do or are you trying to set up a bunch of "blogs with products" and then get paid a commission with "Enable Global shopping cart"
Ps have a look at your site and see if your settings as correct in the link below
http://bloglines.co.za/wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=marketpress-ms
