We require a few fields to fill out for a free and for a premium membership. One of the fields is name and it is not carrying over into the buddy press profiles. Therefore when you try to search for a member by name you can't find them till everyone reenters their personal information which is making everyone mad.

bxdavi2,
Do you have the Buddypress to Wordpress profile syncing turned on?
Membership should be adding your members to Wordpress, so that would enable the transfer of names :)
Best,
Kimberly

Does anyone know a trick to sync up Membership with Buddypress profiles?

Membership uses a different registration process so it won't sync with Buddypress. I can see about getting the developer to comment on this perhaps?

That would be great. Right now the way it works we would have to open all the profiles and put in their names so they will show up.
Also, we show 109 total users registered, 91 are active, although we have activated everyone in the system. Where would the other 18 users be?

Greetings bxdavi2,
Just touching base with you to let you know that we have not forgotten about you nor the issue at hand.
Though I do not have any comment regarding the specific issue that you and Kimberly were working on and it indeed indicates a request for developer feedback, I do want to comment on the missing users in which I anticipate are non activated accounts.
In my opinion probably signups that did not complete in which me and another tech noted last night that if not activated by the link sent in an email to the registrant the account does not show up in the dashboard until this has been accomplished.
Anyway we will certainly see what the lead developer of the Membership plugin with his invaluable insight has to say about all this when he makes his way in here.
Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member!
Cheers, Joe

No what's happening is that people can sign up, we activate them but their name that they sign up with doesn't carry over to the Buddy Press Profile so they have to set everything up again.

Greetings bxdavi2,
Thank you for clarification on that, I am thinking of Word Press and you are thinking of Buddy press ... lol
Still waiting for the lead developer to get to this ticket.
Cheers, Joe

Any chance we can get a link to your site?
Membership should be using the default BuddyPress profile registration bits, so I'm not sure how there could be a disconnect. Membership doesn't replace the BP registration - it uses it.
Let us know and we'll help ya get to the bottom of this. Thanks!

Hiya @bxdavi2,
I signed up and had no issues. All of my profile info is there and in the correct place:
http://wcoaa.org/wordpress/members/mason/profile/
Can you try another signup and let us know where, exactly, the breakdown is.
Thanks!
