Ok, I've tried this one before without much luck. We've brought everything else up to date and now have installed this one new. Same result as in the past -- page is empty.
I've seen some old references to this, but not any resolutions.
thanks,
Jim

One clarification -- the actual site is on a multi site installation .. the master site is gkchatpernet.info .. the site in question here is implementersedge.com

Hey there.
You don't have BuddyPress installed do you?
As this isn't BuddyPress compatible.
If you don't then please review your error logs and post them here so I can see them. This should point us in the right direction.
If you are not sure where those logs are then please ask your host because they will know your environment best.
Let me know.
Take care.

Greetings Jim,
Sorry to hear that you are having a problem with this plugin.
I do not know what is going on there but when I ran a trace on the main domain that you provided gkchatpernet.info, the trace comes back that the server does not exist. I am assuming there is a typo there?
However, the indicated sub site implementersedge.com I was able to trace this domain straight to Host Gator at the Planet without a problem.
I am not able to replicate this issue on my test production site as indicated here:
http://aecnuwpmu.us/
Please advise.
Cheers, Joe

yes, a typo.. the master site is http://gkchapternet.info (Glazer-Kennedy Chapter Network)
A question on your test production site .. the page comes up as the front page, but without the slug indicated in the documentation .. so, that begs the question, where did the page come from?
thanks,
Jim

And no, not Buddypress ... I have a few of those, but the gadgets available for Buddypress work just fine.
I have successfully set up the AMR Users plugin on this site, but it is rather complex to turn over to end clients and I'd prefer using WPMUDev plugins when one is available (that works... per another thread, we've been struggling to bring up the scheduling part of Autoblog for the better part of three months already..)
thanks,
Jim

I was able to go the /members slug on AECNU's test site and bring up the list, so that mystery solved, but note that the links all throw errors when you click through to see the profile. ... the exact feature we're looking for.
thanks,
Jim

Joe just noticed this and I'm not sure how I missed your second post.
So your trying to use the plugin on a sub site in a network?
That wouldn't work unfortunately, it is only designed for the main site to display all the members of the network. Sorry about that.
Take care.

Greetings Jim,
Thank you for this great question.
Quite simply I made it the static front page under Settings --> Reading --> static page
I have removed it as the static page and you will clearly see that it is now using the normal slug.
The plugin page states:
I wanted to make sure that even if this was misinterpreted that the home page would indeed display the members :-D
However, I just simply turned off the static front page and not it appears as normal.
Click on the "Members" menu selection and it works of course:
http://aecnuwpmu.us/
I believe can possibly be due to not enough php memory to render the members page.
So lets see what you got going on there in this respect. Below is an attached zip file containing phpinfo.php, extract and upload to your sites root web accessible folder and pull it up in your browser i.e. http://yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php
We are looking for:
memory_limit
And
max_execution_time
In addition, this is a sub site in your network that you are trying to display the members on?
I am aware of that ticket and I do not have this problem on my hosting servers at all. I would give you a client that is using auto blog on several sites on my servers without issue if he would indeed allow me to share his name or web address.
It is true that other WPMU users have a similar issue while at the same time the vast majority using auto blog are not.
I cannot figure out what you all have in common.
Cheers, Joe

Ah .. okay, that is a rather MASSIVE omission from the documentation .. and quite frankly a rather illogical limitation. At least name it something that is closer to what it does. I current run 9 wordpress networks with many hundreds of sub sites and in not a single case would I ever want the users of a subsite to have any awareness of users on other subsites .. heck, they generally don't even know they are on a network of sites...
This has not been a very cheery day for me and WPMU plugins .. we're batting a solid zero today.

FWIW .. it does work just spendidly on the master site ... but please do make it clear in the documentation what this actually does. I wasted several hours of rather valuable time today because a subscription plugin is not adequately documented.

No omission:
Usage page:
and on the project page:
I've reworded that now to make it clearer:
And have added a further note on our usage page.
Our plugin was developed for EduBlogs originally and can now be found in BuddyPress which also only works on the main site.
Sorry about the confusion there. I've made corrections to the documents to make this clearer.
Thanks.

Greetings Jim,
I may have a solution for you since you are apparently using a TLD for your network probably mapped to a sub site.
I personally do not build networks this way anymore, I use Networks for WordPress
It allows networks of networks and other fantastic possibilities and I use it myself now for all my networks.

That looks quite interesting for managing as many sites as I do .. however, I don't see how it addresses a member list from any specific site.
We use networks primarily to ease the management burden of updates and then group sites on them by market/niche/some other common element that usually translates into a common set of plugins. The sites however, while having some commonality, are completely independent ... more like a franchise type model where every franchise owner has their own web site, but much of it is similar or even the same from site to site -- but the sites themselves do not have overlapping member bases as franchises very typically get some sort of exclusive rights to a geographic territory.
Thanks for the pointer to the networks things though .. I'm envisioning one giant uber dashboard for all our sites .. that would be something!! (and something we need could accomplish on Joomla .. even with some commercial attempts... gotta love how Wordpress changes the game...!!)
peace,
Jim

BTW -- on the Autoblog thing ... any chance that Hostgator is a common thread among folks having this same scheduling problem?? I've never had any particular problems with Hostgator, but it that could be pinpointed as a common element among failing installations, I have enough of a footprint there to get some pretty efficient support.
thanks,
Jim

Greetings Jim,
How this would have worked out in this case had it already been installed, is your first network of networks would have been gkchapternet.info.
Of course considering a Dedicated IP you can park TLD's in the cPanel and all TLD's assigned there can become part of the network, can have sub sites too, and are indeed their own independent network!
So in this example you would have parked the implementersedge.com in cPanel and then went into your network admin dashboard to Sites --> Networks and added your implementersedge.com domain and it would create a completely independent network but still sharing the installed plugins and themes - and here is the bomb - no Domain Mapping and you can have Buddy Press too!
It does work :-)
Now how does it apply now, the current issue is that implementersedge.com domain mapped to a sub site of gkchapternet.info, but with the Networks for WordPress plugin it would be its own network and the Member Directory would work as you anticipate!
Now that I have given you the vision, what are your thoughts or comments on this please?
Please advise.
Cheers, Joe

Greetings Jim,
Concerning Host Gator this could indeed be the common denominator of these folks having problems with Autoblog and I think it could be related to maximum allowed crons or the maximum amount of time a cron or script is allowed to run etc.
Everyone having this problem has no problem when it comes to manual execution of the script, but the moment it is dependent on some kind of cron - well we see what happens.
That is why i sent you the phpinfo.php file because this would indeed give us a look at the settings of memory and script execution time.
My settings are:
memory_limit 512MB
And
max_execution_time 240
If you do not mind posting your settings it would be great for comparison and for troubleshooting those with a similar problem and configuration.
Please advise.

I'm attaching the output of phpinfo as a text file
The file to generate it is in the root of the master site .. jim.php I'll leave it there for a couple days.
thanks,
Jim

Hmmm.. txt files of 100K or less should be allowed .. obviously too long to to turn into an image file and the pdf I can generate is too large. Suggestions? (or view online with the info in the post above)
Here are the relevant lines though:
memory_limit 256M 256M
max_execution_time 300 300
I think we can call the members stuff resolved though now that documentation is clear and I'm sure whether we wanted to look at php settings for this problem or for the ongoing Autoblog stuff that is in a different ticket.

One further question ... I've seen the notion of changing privacy settings referenced in a several posts regarding the member lists .. this doesn't make sense to me .. the only thing in my privacy settings it to be visible or not to search engines .. what does this have to do with a user being able to opt out of begin visible on a member list?
thanks
Jim
