For those of you who haven't already figured it out, our Blog Types plugin is now available. Actually we've already fixed several bugs reported so now is the time to go give it a try:
The blog types plugin allows blogs to be assigned to categories, countries, or pretty much anything else you can think of. You can even create portal pages (think domain.tld/category) by using the Post Indexer and Comment Indexer plugins to grab comments and posts from each category (after the Blog Types plugin has been installed go check out the 'sort_terms' collumn in the post indexer and comment indexer tables).

cool. will this also work in reverse? say for example, the first comments plugin. can you assign what the first comment will be depending on the type of blog?
I'm afraid not. At the moment the blog types plugin is basically just a framework. We plan on extending it and creating additional plugins that work with it later this year.
Thanks,
Andrew
