Hello there - on Events+ which has so-far configured right out of the box the only quirk is that on the frontend posting when people hit submit they get a spinning wheel of nothingness. The event does actually get added but to all intents and purposes the page just stays the same - any clues - url is

Hey there!
I registered and created a test event :)
Upon clicking Publish I saw a note in green "Your Event has been saved and Published" or something to that effect, but it was gone very quickly.
Are you using a caching plugin?
I am using Firefox.
Tried again and was able to snag a screenshot before it disappeared!
Best,
Kimberly

oh and you might want to delete the events, sorry about that, but I didn't know how to test otherwise

Actually Kim - I've just emptied cache and tried again and I'm still getting spinning wheel. I've tried registering a new account but same thing. I don't think we have a caching plugin on Staggered. Any other ideas?
BTW - I'm still not getting notified of new posts on any WPMU threads, it's really annoying!

What browser are you using?
I tested in Firefox
There may be a timeout issue with your server, my memory is foggy but there is a way to change your action or timeout time in your index.php or wp-config.php or something...I'll need to look it up

Tried it on Chrome and Firefox. I would try IE but I fear for my sanity.
Any advice would receive thumbs up.

Kim-a-tron (have I done that one yet?) what I've realised is that it only spins eternally if I add a location to the listing. No location and it parses fine. Why would that be?

Ok - more testing - it's a bug.
If you install Events+ but not Google Map plugin then adding a venue seems to cause it to spin indefinitely (whilst still adding it to the events). Actually it might be that it needs a properly defined venue if it doesn't have Gmaps plugin. I'm sure if the dev plays around with it then they'll be able to replicate - we've had it replicated in FF, Chrome. Now I've added Google Maps plugin (which I didn't necessarily want to do) it's ok again.
Hope that helps.

Just reviewing this in passing, but when I entered 'My Backyard' as the location, it put me in South Africa. When I entered the address of my local supermarket, it worked flawlessly. When I added a 'creative' test address, it put me in limbo.
The software seems to like actual locations! Please delete "Test Event". Correctly typed addresses (at least in my case) result in fully functional results.

Thanks for the input Camparoo - I've now installed the Google Maps plugin, I think it's more for anyone who doesn't have this installed but does have Events+ - you're right though a fully formatted address does seem to get entered (although pre Gmaps install it still led to the spinning wheel of nothingness).

Oh you beat me to it!
Sorry it took so long for me to get back, so I will say what I wanted to say anyway
"Hey! Are you using google maps with the location feature? "
*to be read in kim-a-tron robot voice*
I am a bit delirious, up too late for sure!
I'll flag the developer down to see about it, the good news is he also supports the Google Maps plugin! :)
Ve:seems we have a bug! No Google Map plugin makes the Location cause the Adding Event to go wonky!
