I'm using Marketpress with WP Multisite and the first time I attempted to make a purchase,
I received a Paypal error message upon checkout - something about Paypal not being configured properly - and then I got the email below from Paypal. What should I do about this? My site is Stixyarn.com. Thank you!
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) messages. Messages sent to the following URL(s) are not being received:
http://stixyarn.com/store/payment-return/paypal-express
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information.
Once you or your service provider fix this problem, you or your service provider can resend the failed messages from the IPN History page. If this problem continues, PayPal may disable the IPN feature for your account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.

Hmmmm... I attempted to make a purchase again and this time everything went through just fine. Should I be concerned about the Paypal warning?

Can you login to you PayPal account and view the IPN history log on your account. It will list the last few attempts that PayPal made and the error codes that were returned. If you click on the details for the last few then it will give more information on the server response.
I found a thread which might help you in this issue as that was reported for the same issue.
http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/paypal-instant-payment-notification-warning
Also, I would suggest you go to through this guide here and test the Gateway functionality using paypal sandbox mode to see if everything goes well.
We should be concerned about the warnings as they might result in having issues with the paypal account.
Please check as above and advise how it goes.
I would be around.
Cheers

I logged into my Paypal account and found my Edit Instant Payment Notifications page, and it seems that I have not indicated a URL for IPNs. What should that URL be? Do I need IPNs for Marketpress to work properly? Should I just disable the feature?

Heya,
Just set the URL to http://stixyarn.com/store/payment-return/
and see if you still get those emails !
Also, if you still get those messages, follow this tutorial here to fetch a error code so that I can suggest accordingly.
Please advise
Cheers
