my wp-content and public_html folders are set to ch755, because my host (seo-host) does not allow a 777 on the server
I uploaded the plugin and clicked install
and I get the following error
"Installing Plugin from file: 812572466_sitemaps-all-in-one-seo-5.zip
Unpacking the plugin package
Folder already exists.: install.txt
Installation Failed"
I tried installing several plugins, but I get the same error.
what could be the problem? can someone help
thanks in advance
Sean
BTW. I read install.txt
and realized, its not a one click install, like in WP
followed all the instuctions,
However, I dont find the plugin in the admin section/installed plugins
I was looking for it to activate.
It looks like I may be missing something.

The included folder and most of the files in that plugin should be loaded to your mu-plugins folder.
sitemaps.php goes in wp-content and you need to make an htaccess edit.
Doublecheck the install.txt file. It's all there.

Hiya,
Plugins placed in /mu-plugins/ do not have to be activated.
Thanks,
Andrew

The plugins here are built to be installed via the manual methods described in the insteall.txt file included within the download. Using the automated install script within wpmu isn't recommended.
I think many of us are in fact ignoring that "feature" actually.

I just pretend it's not there.

How do I know for sure it is installed fine.
I tried logging in as a individual blogger (not admin)
I did not have the option to activate my seo /site map plugin.
How do i know if its all installed ok?
If so, where do I configure the plugin settings?
and make it site wide.
thanks
Sean

Plugins installed into /mu-plugins/ do not have to be activated. They are automatically enabled for every blog.
Thanks,
Andrew
