Hi All
Attached to this post is the version 2.0 beta of the Post Indexer plugin. This plugin has had quite a big update to bring in the WP 3+ terms and category taxonomies.
It should work and function correctly with the other WPMUDEV global post plugins and widgets *except for* the current version of the Global Tags plugin (the beta version of which will be available in another sticky post pretty soon).
This plugin adds two new tables to your database, so you should check that these have been created if you come across any initial issues (also, if you are running multi-db, then make sure these are in your global tables list):
wp_site_terms
wp_site_term_relationships
Any other issues, please post below.
Thanks
Barry

Hi guys,
I've tested your beta version of plugins but apparently doesn't work. We are developing a WP 3.0.1 site. I've cleaned the wp-content/mu-plugins directory because it wasn't working previously and I've copied first of all the post-indexer php file but i doesn't work yet. Now it doesn't show anymore the MU-PLUGINS section in our dashboard.
Am I doing something wrong?
Best regards. I'm eager to have the final 2.0 version.

@joselper do you have the post-indexer.php file in the root of the mu-plugins directory?

@Jose mu-plugins work differently from regular plugins. When you install regular plugins they can be activated and deactivated on a per site by site inside the dashboard via the Plugins page.
Whereas any plugin placed in the mu-folder are automatically activated network wide. You won't see an mu-plugins menu item inside your dashboard like you have with the Plugins page for regular plugins.
Some mu-plugins will add extra menu items inside your dashboard while others are designed to run in the background.
The Post indexer is a powerful plugin that is designed to work in the background by indexing all your posts on your network into a global table. Once it has indexed the posts it can be used in conjunction with other mu-plugins like Global Site Tags, Global Search, Recent Global Posts Widget, Anti-splog (for key word searches). Please note it only starts to index posts published after it is installed.
You can read more about mu-plugins here:

@Barry: Yes I do I put it on the mu-plugins root directory and apparently doesn't work. This afternoon (spanish time: GMT+1) I'll try again.

@joselper - anymore info on the "apparently doesn't work" statement?
Any errors? has it created the new tables in the database? are you running multi-db? Unless you have some of the other plugins that use the post indexers data, you won't actually see it doing anything unless you check the database.
