Are premium users allowed to remove the "Powered by Edublogs" in the footer of the Nelo theme?
I searched the forum and looked for a license.txt in the theme but couldn't find a clear answer.

A quick check shows the link in the theme's footer.php file. Best bet would be just to remove the line from that file.
